I found a great article on the Columbia.

I'm clueless about setting up links, so sorry.

Story is third from the bottom, be prepared to be seriously moved.

Sorry, but that link only takes you to the main page, one with a map on it. :(

I then clicked on my state and the name of the only local newspaper listed and got the list of articles.

This is painful to watch and listen too because

Chilling and difficult to listen to.

Video showing Columbia crew's final minutes released

It breaks your heart, folks. Be warned.

Ani--indeed; I read part of the transcript last night (don't have audio capabilities here) and was just going meeeep... how very weird and chilling and all that.....

:pout:  :unhappy:
Sailing free, boundless glimmer, golden whispers, fiery poise, delicate balance, grave and true, bound by earth, feared horizons, courageous steps unknown, shimmering future hidden yet unveiled....

I found a great article on the Challenger.

Oops. COLUMBIA's made many people have flashbacks to CHALLENGER... I even heard a clip online of a Texas woman making an emergency call, saying she usually got to see shuttles re-entering, and she thought that CHALLENGER had just blown up...

I really want to see this vid, but am going to have to download a Mac-compatible edition of Windows Media Player, I guess, because it doesn't appear to be in a format I can use otherwise. (I have Real Player, but apparently not upgraded enough. I don't think I can use the latest editions of that software on System 8.6.)

:nervousninja: Thank you Norville! You hit the nail on the head.  Shook me up pretty bad.  However, the video shows that these heros were doing what they loved.  Isn't it ironic that the only video recovery was this.

Norville, I hope you were able to see it.
