The article doesn't seem to include any of the actual pictures.  Could somebody find a link to them, so that the thread title won't be so misleading?

nice story I have a question about the impace from the comet years ago are they seeing any lingering effects of the impacts?

Ah, the glory of watching Shoemaker-Levy 9 plow into Jupiter...absolutely beautiful...

Tried googling for some info on what impact the inpact of Shoemaker Levy 9 had on Jupiter..I am not the best googler, could not find anything.

I was still scratching my head at the Times article (obviously cribbed from the NASA News), waiting for the punch line - unfortunately, they stopped too soon. Thank goodness the NASA News went on to explain that the debris is from micrometeroid impacts. :D :p
