well, okay.  but I must admit, I haven't given much thought on an openning game.  But I think I can whip one up real soon.  First, let's round out some characters.  Basically, we need a general.  Since O'Niell is now the general, I need some one to play Jack O'Niell.  I guess RommieSG will get that one.  You've convinced me :).  Now, a team is needed.  Typically, there are four members in that team, but no one said there can't be five or six.  Can't be SG-1, so a different team number will be given.  I wil need someone like Daniel, who knows a lot about the G'ould's history (and I  better learn how to spell all those names).  I haven't decided to whether i should assume that role, or to play Daniel on the side to help the story along (since he is often the catylist that starts a mess, or helps solve some missing pieces).  Of course, there will be a team leader, and that I leave open to players to decide on what kind of character they want him or her to be.  This is also true for the smart one in the group (like Carter), and a fourth member can be an off-worlder if desired.  My PM's inbox is full (I promise to do some cleaning soon), but you can email me your character profiles and ideas at: akaras75@yahoo.com

So far:

Jack O'Niell-RommieSG

SG Team Leader-
Carter type-
Daniel Type-GM???-Not definite-need to think here, have frail mind
Teal'C or Jonas, human, other(?) 4th member-

Now, I will make sure that anyone who wants to play, will be able to play.  However, given that teams are small, it is important to be able to keep up and stay in the game.  If I have more players, there may be two teams, and things can get really interesting that way,so don't fret.  Stargate is very unique, and make for great game play since there can be hundreds of different missions and worlds to discover, and lots of baddies to torment.  :)  Lastly, I am always open to your ideas, so feel free to express them.  If you have an idea on a character you want to add and/or play, I'll see if I can work it in.

Missions will start Monday, so I hope to be getting in character profiles bySunday.  :)

Well, I figured other people might have wanted to read it as well. ;) I whipped this little thing up.

Name: Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill
Born: October 20, 1957
Height: 6'2"
Hair: Whitened Dark Brown, Military Cut.
Marital Status: Divorced (Sara O'Neill)
Children: None (Charlie: Deceased)
Current Rank: Brigadier General
Current Assignment: Commander of Stargate Command (SGC)

Brigadier General Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill, has had a career that most enlisted men would think of as a fairy tale. If they only knew the knowledge and secrets that this man holds in his head, their jaws would permanently hit the floor.

Jack O'Neill was first involved in the Stargate Project in 1994, when he led the first expeditionary team through the gate, after Daniel Jackson correctly identified the seventh symbol that had eluded the civilian research team for over four years. His secret mission was to set off a Mark III nuclear device, if there was any danger on the other end of the Stargate. After the death of his son, Charlie, who died at the hands of his own gun when accidentally shooting himself, Jack was suicidally depressed, and was going to remain and set the nuke off himself.

He grew attached to Skaara, a local boy, while he was on Abydos, and moved from an antagonistic relationship with Daniel to one of mutual respect. Those two things and having to fight for his and his men's lives were enough to force him out of his depression, and instead of blowing up the Abydonians, he and Daniel blew up Ra's ship with the nuclear device.

Of the original team, only Majors Kawalsky and Ferretti returned with him to Earth. Daniel remained behind on Abydos, with his wife Sha're, a 'gift' from the Abydonian Cheiftain. O'Neill and the others agreed to tell their superiors that they had destroyed the other Stargate with the nuke. He and his men deliberately falsified their reports to keep anyone from sending a second bomb back and killing the Abydonians and Daniel

Jack O'Neill retired after returning from Abydos, and also faced a divorce from his wife Sara when he returned. One year later he was called back to Stargate Command, after Apophis entered through the gate. After admitting to falsifying his report to save thousands of lives, Jack was put back on active duty and sent back to Abydos to retrieve Daniel and find out who or what had come through Earth's gate.

There, through Daniel's findings, and with Captain Samantha Carter's expertise, they found that the Stargate didn't just go between Earth and Abydos, but to many different worlds. After Skaara and Sha're were kidnapped by Apophis, it gave Jack and Daniel personal reasons to continue the hunt for the Goa'uld. O'Neill was given command of SG-1, an exploratory unit commissioned to explore the gate for evidence of the Goa'uld, and any weapons/technology that would be helpful in their aid against the Goa'uld. Along with Samantha Carter and Daniel Jackson, a Jaffa named Teal'c joined SG-1 shortly after his liberation from the servitude of Apophis.

O'Neill led SG-1 on countless missions for seven years, forming alliances with the Asgard, Tok'ra, Tollans, and many other countless races.

After the most recent Goa'uld threat of the system lords Anubis and Ba'al, SGC Commander, General George Hammond was promoted, and reassigned as head of Homeworld Security. Jack O'Neill was promoted to Brigadier General, and assigned command of the SGC. His first official act was to carry out the promotion of Samantha Carter to Lt. Colonel, who now leads SG-1.

Just a small reminder for those who have posted interest in playing the Stargate RPG.   Jack O'Niell will be played by RommieSG, but there are several opennings for a team (about 4 members depending on how many play), and maybe even other roles if anyone has any ideas.  NPC's will be played by me, the GM, so gamers won't see me meddling on where we would go and all that.  So, please, PM me as soon as yyou can for more info as to what kind of characters are available.

Here are some basics:

Name
Rank
Occupation (specialty.  I.E. historian/archiologist, military person, offworlder military, physics genius, etc...)
Age
Height
Weight
Ethnicity
Scars/tattoos (if any)
Background history
Disposition (cocky, scrupulous, principled, etc.)

RommieSG has O'Niell's character profile on the first page of this thread if you want to get an idea.  Yours does not have to be as detailed.  :)

Name Caitlyn O'Shaunessy
Rank err...corperal? major ?No clue what would be appropriate, sorry
Occupation specialty Medical type stuff and electronical stuff.
Age 25-ish
Height 5.6
Weight 85 kilo's
Ethnicity caucasion
Scars/tattoos (if any) a few on her arms from fencing.
Background history Caitlyn's family was irish up untill a generation ago, so she is first generation american - still has a slight trace of an irish twang, but nothing serious. Like all women in her family, she seemed to have a knack for healing people, or at least taking care of the sick, and she wanted to go into medical school. Unfortunately, she could not afford this, but the Army could, so she enlisted in return for the medical training. Her other big hobby is tinkering with electronics, at which she is very good. She personally has very little clue why she was sent to cheyenne mountain, or ordered there, to put it better, but  she's always up for a challenge.

Military wise, her first 'tour of duty ' was in this iraqi 'conflict'

Disposition (cocky, scrupulous, principled, etc.)
principaled.

err..if i'm majoryly missing something or there are some huge snafu's, let me know?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just as a suggestion, I would go with the Major. A Corporal is just below a Sergeant, if I'm not mistaken, and I'm not sure if there are Corporals in the Air Force. I'd have to check on that.

To help out, here are the standard Air Force Ranks.....

Airman Basic
Airman
Airman First Class
Senior Airman
Staff Sergeant
Technical Sergeant
Master Sergeant
Senior Master Sergeant
Chief Master Sergeant
Second Lieutenant
Lieutenant
Captain
Major
Lieutenant Colonel
Colonel
Brigadier General
Major General
Lieutenant General
General

If you're going to be a team member, I would recommend Lieutenant or higher. Ask A Karas for more details.

He left with a 2/1 Master of Arts degree.  He joined the Royal Marines on a whim, he happened to be walking past the recruiting office in Glasgow and the window display appealed to him.

His parents and sister had no idea what he did, they thought that he was acting as a Royal Marine liaison officer in the USA.

BACKGROUND MATERIAL: In 2001 he was offered the opportunity to join A-504 Special Forces Squadron.  He was chosen for this very special squad because of his communication/computer skills and linguistic abilities.  Due to his SAS training he also has climbing, diving and parachuting skills. Weapons and close combat training are also a core skill for the Regiment.

Hmmmmm, my Stargate SG1 is kinda out of touch. I don't remember all that much of it. *Makes mental note to study it.*

Righty then, I guess I'd like to play an offworlder, preferably non-human and noticably so and female.

Any of you can think of a species that fits that general description?

I thought about an Una but I don't think they come in female form.

A Nox maybe but they're kinda advanced aren't they?

.....

I'm gonna have to to check out some websites.
