well, the show started off with the familar notes of "no one mourns the wicked" But the stage was empty and slowely chimery and the other monkies came on. Then the people of Oz filed in with the super costumes. They were totally unique and nothing llike the movie. Them Glinda came down in her 'bubble machine' There were a bunch of lines that they cut out during dear old shiz. Galinda did this really cute/annoying thing where she jumped up and down, but only her feet and they only came up like 2 inches. She actually accidentaly volunteered to be Elphie's roomate.
Durning "What is this feeling" when elphiba says "every trait" she mimmicks Galinda and jumps up and down.
okay, more later

I saw it in NYC on July 18th of last year, the very last show that Kristin Chenoweth, Norbert Leo Butz, and Joel Grey were present for. (Joel Grey didn't perform, he was still sick, but he came out for speeches at the end.) My sister and I were in the very back row of the Gershwin Theatre, on the very right side, but it was an amazing, amazing show. There were lots of little things added because of Kristin and Norbert's impending departure, and when the characters they were playing were leaving each other, the actors really bawled. Kristin could hardly sing For Good through her tears.
I was really priviledged to see the Tour when it started in Toronto in March, and our seats were much closer this time. A week afterwards, the Wicked makeup line had a promo at makeup store in Toronto and I went back there with some friends because the two women playing the witches were there to sign autographs. It was really awesome.
Can I be the keeper of Galinda's training wand?

Sometimes standing still can be the best move you ever make.

I have been sent a bootleg video of the whole show, but it's quite badly over exposed and only about a 4 inch square picture so I haven't watched more than the first few minutes of it yet
Generally just not missed

I can't believe that Wicked has a makup line! That's awesome!
Don't worry, it will get to the UK eventually... check the Wicket Site for the tour dates. And don't watch the online version, it doesn't sound worth it. Just live off the soundtrack untill you can see it.
here are some pics of Defying gravity

Basically she rising above the stage, and the whole stage looks like the cape that Glinda just gave her
