My sentiment is also mostly with what Zack wrote, except for one thing.

Why must it be a democratic regime in Iraq? I'd settle for a stable, some sort of benevolent dictatorship if I must.

Democracy needs the country's citizens to understand what democracy means and what responsibilities comes with it. Frankly, I don't think an average Iraqi understand what democracy means after living under dictatorship for so long.

I think it is irresponsible to thrust power into hands of people who don't know how to use it.
