I watched a CNN piece on racism as the cause of the problems in New Orleans. The problem is that, itís not about race itís far more pernicious, and infinitely more subtle; itís about genetics. Itís about, who are to be laborers, and who will be leaders and managers. In particular itís about the governmental mapping of an individual childís brain by the time they are seven. The mapping is tested, not by what that personís brain can do, but how, and at what speed a person accomplishes a highly prescribed complex set of mental tasks. Oh and by the way make no doubts about it, the public education system in this and most other countries, is an arm of government, even though they like to think they arenít.

By this point your scratching your head confused because you donít remember having your brain tested and evaluated. If I used another term for the testing you most definitely would remember, in your world itís called academic achievement testing. Most tend to get defensive here, when I try to explain how the school system in this country is an intricately well-designed engine of segregation. The segregation is not based on race, it is based on a very twisted measure of a personís ability to learn, what is called a persons academic achievement level.

When a person enters middle school the overt segregation begins. Children are sorted / segregated in to, two basic groups, College Preparatory and Vocational Education (Voc-Ed), there may or may not be a sub-grouping like Special Education, but them major dividing line is College Preparatory and Vocational Education. This is where the college bound students are taught that they are superior and the Voc-Ed students are beneath them. Taught to believe that the Voc-Ed students are low lives to be avoided and ignored, and that high-school dropouts are the lowest of low life. As to the kids in Special Education, the kids in the College Prep Track see them as either profoundly retarded or cheaters looking for a free ride.

It is not about race this is about building and maintaining as low cost a work force as possible, very definitely a national goal. As the Voc-Ed students make up about 60-70% of the work force and the college educated students make up about 20-25% of the work force by design. If you think about it this is exactly the proportion of educated to non-educated student output of the American schools we see today and complain about. You must understand that the schools system in this country is not malfunctioning, it is doing exactly what it was designed to do, only we have been lied to as regards what the schools where designed to do.

The only problem is that social programs, and minimum wage has up set the commercial apple cart, so low cost labor now has to be imported in the form of legal and illegal immigrants with greatly reduced wage expectations, what is called globalization.

What we have here is commercialism gone amok not racism, so when they say President Bush and his whole family doesnít care they are right, the proof being the Bush administrations policy on illegal immigration. It is the economic policies of this nation that keep so many in poverty, and itís the fact that the evacuation plans in all US cities are based on the automobile and not mass transportation, that will have killed so many in New Orleans.

Or, as a woman at my (former) church once asked, "If they all go to college, where will our maids and gardeners come from?"

one of the problems in England is that Blair is setting targets of at least 50% to go to university but many jobs dont need this level of education.

Not necessarily gardeners and maids but one friend recently got a modern apprenticship without even carrying on to A leels and whenthey finish that course they will be a qualified engineer, without ever setting foot in a university.

LOL.  Please edit your response as you are violating Ex/Isle's rules about calling people a troll.

Now, if you can't answer intelligently, then stay out of the discussion, capiche??

It is a serious problem if you follow it to the logical conclusion.  Simply put, there are not enough high paying jobs if "everyone" went to college.  "Lower Income" jobs would simply have to pay more thereby causing hyper inflation.  In essence, everyone would be in the same boat they are now except they would have what is still a low paying job *just inflated by inflation* with a ton of student loans on top of it.

Now do you understand??

to change a spelling I knew was wrong.
