New Orleans Police Cope with Stress and Survival in Flooded City

70% of all officers estimated to be homeless...

Yet here they still are, even in the face of desertions and betrayals by fellow officers, death of fellow officers in the hurricane and flood, and even some who had taken their own lives.

Their Badges and Each Other is all they have, and yet here they still are, trying to do their job in a ruined city.

all i gotta say is...

*SALUTE!*

I second that salute and raise ya one! :)

I saw a N.O. police officer on TV who really let his brother officers who quit have it.  I can understand they have a truly miserable and dangerous job right now, but I'm glad there are some like that guy on TV who are stubborn and tough enough to stick it out, regardless.

Cheers,

But I'm never talking to you again
There's things I'd like to phrase some way
But I'm never talking to you again

I'm never talking to you again
I'm never talking to you
I'm tired of wasting all my time
Trying to talk to you

I'd put you down where you belong
But I'm never talking to you again
I'd show you everywhere you're wrong
But I'm never talking to you again

I'm never talking to you again
I'm never talking to you
I'm tired of wasting all my time
Trying to talk to you

I'm never talking to you again
I'm never talking to you
I'm tired of wasting all my time
Trying to talk to you."

I can well understand one. His leg was broken, he was in no shape to do anymore.

The rest that left...

It's easy to be angry at them. However I wonder how many of us would have the strength to go on after losing everything.

Things are not quite that simple, but Iím with you. We know to little to be angry with them or not.

Unfortunately, lacking specifics I have little choice but to simplify.
