Still, I see it no different as somebody just walking off their job without telling their boss. Nobody says they have to KEEP THIS JOB.

If you are going to excuse men and women who ran away and left the people they swore to protect to die. Why blame the government for being late.  And as to the cops do not worry most police unions will do all they can to keep these guys from losing their jobs.   Hell here in town we had the union bend over backwards to protect a group of cops who got drunk and picked a few fist fights in downtown.
And a cop recently was being held because of a drunk driving arrest. His third or fourth. Yeah they seem able to keep the job even while breaking the law they promise to enforce.
If you encounter any Trolls. You really must not forget them.

I'm not excusing anyone. I'm merely saying that the cops have the RIGHT to quit their job. Don't recall hearing about the Government quiting it's job though.

Looks like the Liberal Elite of Exisle have finally managed to silence the last remaining Conservative voice on the board.

If they did, we could have our money back. ;)

I think you're the first female cast member to *insist* on playing a guy ;) - Iolanthe, on my cross-casting obsession.

This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle, this earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, this other Eden, demi-paradise, this fortress built by Nature for herself... - John of Gaunt, Act II, Scene I, Richard II

"Courtesy is how we got civilized. The blind assertion of rights is what threatens to decivilize us. Everybody's got lots of rights that are set out legally. Responsibilities are not enumerated, for good reason, but they are set into the social fabric. Is it such a sacrifice to not be an a**hole?" - Jenny Smith on Usenet, via Jid, via Kathy
