Well, it's pretty much already legislated under the Flag code, but with all the flags flying at night, in rainstorms, being used as doormats, etc., I don't know how much enforcement those laws get.

(1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.

That's been law since 1968.

Exactly.

It's another case of not needing new laws just upholding the ones we DO have.
