School was frelling cold so I left early to come home. Got home and decided to take a nap. Woke up an hour later to the door bell ringing. One the other side of the door there is a very nice looking young man. I open up and ask him what I can do for him. He asks if the BF is in. I tell him that he isn't. He says that he is from Shaw Cable and that the bill hasn't been paid in four months. If I don't pay it now the cable is shut off and we have to pay $250 to get it reconnected.
So I hand over ever penny I had saved both to go and see my friend Tim in Chicago and all of you's who are going to Comic Con. He leaves me with a receipt and $5.
As soon as he leaves I break down crying. The BF isn't going to pay me back. He'll just consider it my share of the expenses (even though he is suposed to pay all the rent and utilities). Goodbye Chicago, goodbye San Diego...I would have had fun.
Then the phone rings. It's my best friend Becky on the line. She immidiatly knows that something is wrong and so I tell her the whole story. After about five minutes I ask her how she's doing.
"Well, my water broke this morning. Do you want to come meet your god-child?"
It's amazing how two little sentences can change your day.I jumped on my bike and was up at the hospital is less the ten minutes. The little baby, a girl named Grace, is just about the cutest darling ever. She has amazingly long toes and fingers and she's ticklish. She was very sleepy, but tomorrow she should be wide awake and crying when I visit. Both mom and dad are doing fine.
I still can't believe that this beautiful little girl is going to be interacting in the world with me.
I figure she's worth the $500.
