I guess it's just been one of those days.

School was frelling cold so I left early to come home. Got home and decided to take a nap. Woke up an hour later to the door bell ringing. One the other side of the door there is a very nice looking young man. I open up and ask him what I can do for him. He asks if the BF is in. I tell him that he isn't. He says that he is from Shaw Cable and that the bill hasn't been paid in four months. If I don't pay it now the cable is shut off and we have to pay $250 to get it reconnected.

So I hand over ever penny I had saved both to go and see my friend Tim in Chicago and all of you's who are going to Comic Con. He leaves me with a receipt and $5.

As soon as he leaves I break down crying. The BF isn't going to pay me back. He'll just consider it my share of the expenses (even though he is suposed to pay all the rent and utilities). Goodbye Chicago, goodbye San Diego...I would have had fun.

Then the phone rings. It's my best friend Becky on the line. She immidiatly knows that something is wrong and so I tell her the whole story. After about five minutes I ask her how she's doing.

"Well, my water broke this morning. Do you want to come meet your god-child?"

It's amazing how two little sentences can change your day.I jumped on my bike and was up at the hospital is less the ten minutes. The little baby, a girl named Grace, is just about the cutest darling ever. She has amazingly long toes and fingers and she's ticklish. She was very sleepy, but tomorrow she should be wide awake and crying when I visit. Both mom and dad are doing fine.

I still can't believe that this beautiful little girl is going to be interacting in the world with me.

I figure she's worth the $500.

{{{{{{{{Dan}}}}}}}} Congrats on your god-child. :)

I'm so sorry you had to pay the cable bill with your trip savings, though.

Do not disturb. I had a hard enough time getting turbed in the first place.
I bought some batteries, but they weren't included. So I had to buy them again.

Funny how a baby puts things into prespective.

But $500 for four months of cable?!!?

I don't know, but I think I'd rethink the necessity of anything but basic and if basic was costing that much of having it at all (I don't have it at all BTW).

Thanks all

Well, the cable is for everyone in the house (which is the main reason I paid since I don't like leaving other people without things they have paid for). It works out to $60 a month for internet and TV for us...really not that bad.

As soon as I get the password from the BF i'm going to go in a cut a few things however.

The baby was just as cute when I saw her last night....

{{{{{{Dan}}}}}}} The baby story was so sweet. It sounds like you will really enjoy her, and that is wonderful.

So, bad with the good, huh? That's awful about San Diego. :( Maybe something good will come of you doing the nice thing and paying the bill. What you give out you get back. :)

Dan, that is really a bummer about the cable bill....I do hope you can get at least most of the money back!

The baby sounds like a real cutie, though! :) Have you tried putting your finger across her palm and watching her curl her fingers around it? It's instinctive for babies to grasp things that way, but it's still one of the coolest things I can think of....just gives a real special feeling.
