This is nothing new, and this particular case deals with Wisconsin; still, it's an interesting issue.
The lawmaker proposing the legislation says the students have earned it, but as Christine Leonard finds, others say the bill is an insult to Wisconsin taxpayers. A bill before your state lawmakers would let illegal immigrants pay in state tuition prices. These are the kids that want a future for themselves.
Think about this: If I, as an Arizonan, want to go to the University of Wisconsin, I'd pay out of state tuition fees. I'd probably move there and have a job for a couple years, for financial reasons.
But if I was a law-breaking immigrant, I'd get a tuition break.
If somebody comes forward and identifies themselves as an illegal immigrant, shouldn't they be deported?
Somehow, it amazes me how extremely defective the US immigration policy is....
