Evidentally, because it makes people think too much.  Grrr.....

A statement said: "Despite the high technology and fabulous effects of the movie, it explicitly handles the issue of existence and creation, which are related to the three divine religions, which we all respect and believe in."
The movie "tackles the issue of the creator and his creations, searching the origin of creation and the issue of compulsion and free will," it said.
"Such religious issues, raised in previous times, caused crises."
"Some day, after we have mastered the wind, the waves, the tides, and gravity,
We shall harness for God the energies of Love.
Then, for the second time in the history of the world,
we will have discovered fire."
--Father Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

This is good in one respect: It disproves all of those who claim that M:R is mindless. It's so very entwined with the nature of what is to be human, that it's feared by some repressive governments.

I'm also trying to imagine a black market for "Matrix" tapes....
St. Louis must be destroyed!

Me: "I have a job and five credit cards and am looking into signing a two year lease.  THAT MAKES ME OLD."
Josh: "I don't have a job, I have ONE credit card, I'm stuck in a lease and I'm 28! My mom's basement IS ONE BAD DECISION AWAY!"
~~ Josh, winning the argument.

Damn... I read that in Hebrew and was searching for an English article :p

The one thing I don't get is how the first movie promoted Zionism but this one doesn't
Feminism is the radical notion that women are human beings.

I don't see what you're saying. The article specifically says that the first movie *was* criticized for promoting Zionism in their press....

Naw, Rov, dat dere's what they call them Hebrewish letters.  They ain't jus random squiggles y'know.  Still better than them heathen squggles from Araby that are in that Curran book, I reckon.

I don't blame them for banning this movie, they name all the ships after places in Iran and Iraq. That's clear favoritism.

Worse, God is revealed to be a southern white man, "Colonel Sanders". If the future involves being forced to eat greasy chicken, you can count Egypt out.
