Warning: This is an R-Rated Game. If you are under 18 please press your back button now.

Seven months have passed since the Vampire Hunters of Delmi returned from their mission in Melcene. After the vampires had been eliminated the Royal Guard took control of running the city until a new Duke could be appointed by the royal family to rule. The vampire hunters had stayed a few days in the city to allow their injured members to recover properly then took the journey back to Delmi in easy stages before resuming their normal duties over the summer and through to autumn/fall and winter. Now, seven months later it is late winter and snows blanket Delmi and the surrounding countryside. And during these months there have been several changes.

During autumn/fall a pack of Werepanthers showed up in the forests around Delmi and encountered Joanna and her hunters, however they were peaceful to humes and elviri and were merely passing through. Kat however decided that she wanted to join them and live amongst her own kind so when they moved on, she went with them. Nine days ago Arjhay arrived and managed to discover the true nature of the Vampire Hunters, and while Tialyn was offered a place to study the Kilairi ruins further inland, she declined as she wished to stay where she was needed. Arjhay did decide to stay for a while and assist the Vampire Hunters as well as teach Tialyn about the Kilairi ruins. Tonight would be his first night on duty with the Vampire Hunters as they set out to track down a band of suspected feral werelions that were rampaging around the forests killing humes, elviri and animals alike..

Time Stamp: 00:35

Joanna treaded carefully through the snow as she and her team of Vampire Hunters entered the forests beyond the farmlands surrounding Delmi, intent on tracking down the source of the rumours that had been circulated the town lately of vicious lion-beasts that had been preying on wild animals, farm animals, humes and elviri alike over the last few nights. It was these types of rumours along with the mauled and half eaten bodies of farmers or hunters outside of town that had made most of the locals stay inside their homes with locked doors at night, and send Jo and her teams out at night to hunt down the source. She suspected the source was a pack of feral werelions that had moved in. Very dangerous and in definate need of removal. Dressed in her usual assortment of warm furs and armed with her sword, knife in her boot and another one hidden in her clothing in addition to a bow and a quiver of arrows she was wearing her standard hunting gear. This night clouds obscured the moon meaning the group had to carry torches for those that couldn't see in the darkness. Jo pulled her hood further over her head reflexively against the cold. There was no wind and the snow muffled most sounds. Constantly she looked ahead as far as the light from her torch would permit, alert and wary as they searched.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few metres ahead of the main group of Vampire Hunters and shrouded by the almost complete darkness of night, Graayth padded between the tree trunks as he scouted ahead for danger. He had chosen to hunt in full-beast form this night to allow him full use of his enhanced senses and allow his inner beast some free reign. If they didn't find the feral Lycans tonight he would hunt for himself at dawn once they were done searching for the night. However that was some hours away yet and so Graayth's mind was entirely focused at the task at hand-searching for any signs of the feral Lycans or possible impending danger.
Sephira trudged along beside Jo as they searched the forest for the suspected pack of feral werelions. She didn't have much need for a torch with her excellent night vision, and Jo's torch provided extra light. She was dressed in warm furs over her trousers and shirt, and carried several knives in sheaths around her body, along with a bow and quiver of arrows and looked about warily as they marched through the snow.
Vincent's only concession to the cold weather was to wear his heavy hooded cloak-which could be discarded fairly quickly should the need arise-and he trudged along unhampered by a torch, as he could see perfectly fine in the dark-not quite as well as a Nightwalker, but well enough. He also carried his sword, a bow and quiver of arrows and several knives hidden around his body. As a Daywalker he wasn't quite as strong as a Nightwalker-and therefore the werelions they were hunting had even him beat in strength, but not psionic ability-which he might have to rely on when they eventually caught up to the pride they were trying to track tonight.
He was spread out away from the group, but not too far away-just in case they did run upon the pride-no one was sure yet how many were in it and he didn't want to make the mistake of being surrounded. He had all his senses tuned to the night as he continued to search with the others-hoping it didn't take them too long to find and eradicate this pride of ferals-before they turned their town and surrounding countryside into a killing zone.
The cold, crisp winter night made Tialyn grateful for her knee-length fur-lined boots as she stepped gracefully through the snow. The black fur lining of her hood hid the Elviri's white hair and she felt the cloak swirl about her legs. She gripped her stiletto dagger lightly as a noise in the trees caught her attention, but she relaxed upon seeing an owl sitting on a high branch. She shifted her quarterstaff to a more comfortable position in her hand and breathed deeply of the night air.
Without thinking, Tialyn turned to look for Kat before remembering that her friend had left to be with her own kind. A sinking feeling gripped her heart for a moment as she felt the empty spot in her life. Tialyn walked alone and still wasn't used to her friend being gone...from the hunting or the home they had shared or her life.
She herself would be gone as well, Tialyn thought as she gazed around her into the forest trying to spot any sign of the werelions they were hunting tonight, if she'd stuck to her original plan of going away to study more about the ancient Kiliari civilization. Arjhay had even arranged for her to have a full scholarship, although Tialyn had plenty of money of her own. But the doors that the Professor's name would have opened would have been invaluable. Tialyn could have once again been part of the academic world. However, several personal visions had convinced the Elviri that her place was with Jo and the Vampire Hunters for the foreseeable future.
Dressed in a long, heavy cloak and thick, furry hat, Professor Arjhay Senegoid was a dark brown shadow in the snowy darkness.  In one hand he carried a torch and in the other he gripped the silver-tipped antique walking stick that he had found in the ancient ruins of Quillo twenty years ago.  Since coming to Delmi and teaming up with the Vampire Hunters, the professor had learned that this innocuous personal accoutrement was a formidable weapon against were-creatures.
He shivered as a gust of wind blew icy flakes of snow into his face.  He was not a young man and did not like the cold.  But he could not remain behind while a pack of werelions were roaming the countryside, having already killed many people and animals.  He thought of his beloved brown horse Rhiannon, who he had left behind in the stable at the Inn.  Those wooden walls were no protection from the werelions and he hoped she would be safe until the creatures could be dealt with.
Breanna walked comfortably in the cold night, wearing her usual trousers, shirt, vest and cloak. Her boots were lined to keep her feet from getting wet as she walked in the snow. Every so often she drummed her fingers against the hilt of her favourite dagger.
She had been very busy the last few months. She had decided to start training in order to hone her supernatural abilities, such as telekinesis and her danger sense. However, she focused most of her attention on her strength and agility by working out to get stronger and discover just what she was capable of, as well as developing her overall combat abilities. The hard work slowly paid off: she felt a bit stronger, and much more confident.
She spared a glance at Vincent. They had trained together many times, and they got to know each other a little better. Although they had gotten to know each other better and were on friendlier terms, she didn't quite know what to make of their relationship.  He seemed hesitant to get close, even just as friends. And it was only during training that they got to know each other. They'd see each other when they weren't training or on a mission of course, but it wasn't quite the same. It just felt a bit off to her. Or maybe it's just your imagination she thought to herself. She turned her eyes away from Vincent and onto the scenery surrounding them, using her heightened senses to stay alert for any danger.
Graayth paused, perfectly still suddenly as his ears caught the sounds of movement in the snow off to his right. He dropped to his haunches and sniffed the frosty air then wheeled back abruptly and bounded back to the others. The werewolf stood in front of them and growled, flattening his ears back before pointing towards their right with his paw. He'd practised beast-form signals with Joanna so that he could communicate simple things to her without resorting to telepathy. Once he saw the dark-haired hume nod in acknowledgement Graayth stood, then crouched between them and the source of the scent as it came towards them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Had Jo been any other person she might have been startled when Graayth bounded out of the darkness and stood in front of her before growling and flattening his ears. She knew what that meant. He'd caught the scent of their opponents and they were now heading towards the group to attack them. She watched him position himself protectively and prepare himself for a fight then gestured to the others. "We have enemies nearby and they're closing in fast." She announced, jamming her torch between some branches to provide some illumination without her having to hold it herself. Jo drew her sword with one hand and her silver-bladed knife from within her clothing with her other and readied herself to fight. She could hear or see nothing yet, but the supernaturals in her group would pick up upon the incoming werelions long before she did.

Tialyn's attention was captured by the sound of Jo's voice and her announcement after Graayth had rejoined them. It appeared they were going to be making their stand right where they stood. She unclasped her cloak and flung it off, her braided hair shining in the dark. The werelions had already caught their scent probably, so her white hair wouldn't do much more to give them away. She flung her cloak over a low hanging tree branch and gripped her quarterstaff in both hands.

"Well, let them come," she whispered in response.

Then Tialyn turned to the Professor in concern for the older man--someone she'd enjoyed talking to and, hopefully, looked forward to learning more about the ancients from. "Are you going to be alright?" she asked, trying to keep her voice respectful, glancing at his walking stick.

Sephira flung her fur over her shoulder and grasped two of her silver-plated knives after Jo informed them that Graayth had scented the werelion pack. If they were going to make a stand, she wasn't going to go down easily.

"Here kitty." She silently intoned, looking out into the night.

Vincent whipped his cloak off and threw it over a low tree branch as he pulled his sword. Jo had warned them that Graayth had scented the werelions and he searched the darkness-both telepathically and with his eyes. He wasn't about to be caught by surprise.

Breanna unfastened her cloak and hung it on a low branch. She drew her dagger and stood still, listening and watching for any hint of their prey.

Graayth heard the sounds of multiple Lycans approaching and tensed his muscles ready to spring upon the first one that came within range of his fangs and claws. He spotted the pack of werelions-little more than shadows at first and sprang into their midst with a roar that shattered the stillness of the night. He slammed into the first werelion and locked his jaws about the lion's throat and twisted powerfully, breaking it's neck. He bounded to one side just before he could recieve a slash from another werelion and leaped away to force his attacker to give chase and seperate slightly from the pack. With his tactic working as he intended Graayth wheeled around and pounced on the werelion, fangs and teeth bared.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jo caught the brief sight of shadowy forms approaching just as Graayth had already launched his first attack and roar. She held her sword and knife steady, remaining perfectly still and poised for fighting as she tensely waited for one of their attackers to come into the light given by the torch. When one of the werelions did she would have to be quick and precise.
Sephira stayed where she was, moving just a bit apart from Jo so they would both have room to fight, and watched the shadowy figures slinking about through the trees, ready to move if one got close enough-the last thing she needed was to be bitten by one of the things.
Vincent held his sword at the ready, in a defensive position-noting that Breanna was also getting ready. The two of them had been working out together over the past seven months, him mostly helping her improve her skills, and she had improved some. He looked out into the darkened forest-watching the shadowy forms of the werelions as they slunk closer to them, ready to defend himself.
He knew he better not move too fast with them-for although they were feral, they were still stronger than he was-and he was going to need to rely on his cunning and logic to survive and kill them.
Arjhay watched as Tialyn unclasped her cloak and flung it off, Sephira flung her fur over her shoulder, Vincent whipped his cloak off and Breanna unfastened her cloak and hung it on a low tree branch.  He shook his head.  He'd rather be eaten alive by werelions than freeze to death.
Then Tialyn turned to the Professor in concern for the older man--someone she'd enjoyed talking to and, hopefully, looked forward to learning more about the ancients from. "Are you going to be alright?" she asked, trying to keep her voice respectful, glancing at his walking stick.
"Thank you, I think I'll be able to help out," replied the Professor.  "This isn't so different from the time with the werejackels among the ancient ruins of Ichiptt.  Of course, that was twenty five years ago and it was very hot, being in the desert and all.  But now I have this walking stick.  Back then, all I had was a wooden tent pole and a-- but never mind, I'll tell you later."
"I'll hold you to that," Tialyn said to Arjhay with a quick grin. Hearing another story from the Professor would undoubtably be quite interesting and thrilling...as the few she'd heard so far had been.
Her pointed and sensitive ears picked up the approaching were-lions. "Time to kick some were butt," she remarked, tightening her grip on her quarterstaff and focusing on the coming fight.
As one, the feral werelions attacked the waiting Vampire Hunters. It was fairly small for a pack of Lycans but there was more than enough for each Hunter to be occupied with one or more werelions depending on the amount of threat they provided to the pack. Growling and roaring with anger and hunger they pounced and lunged at the Hunters....
Jo neatly sidestepped when a werelion pounced at her, letting it crash into the tree trunk she had been standing by with enough force to knock all the snow off it's branches. Instantly she flicked out her sword to strike the male werelion in the thigh to hamper his movements by slicing through several muscles in the leg. The werelion howled in pain and shook it's head to clear it then wheels and turned on her, swiping out with one big paw. Joanna leaped back, narrowly missing the swipe and struck with her silver knife in response and the blade burned the werelion's paw. It howled again and lunged at her again in a rage.
Breanna stood still as a werelion raced towards her. She waited until the last minute to roll to the side and turn, holding up her dagger as she landed. The Lycan dodged, but not before the dagger pierced its hide and left a long, shallow gash in its side. It growled in anger and pain and turned to face her. It leaped for her, claws extended, and swiped at her as it got close.
Breanna dodged the beasts paws. As it landed it leaped again and repeated its attack. Breanna rolled out of the way, but the werelion expected this. As it landed it quickly turned and lunged for the Nightwalker as she got up. It pounced on her, and they both went down, Breanna losing the grip on her dagger in the process. She planted her feet on the werelion's stomach and kicked it off her.
Vincent watched the two werelions who were running at him as the pack split up to take them down. He waited, standing and holding his sword in a defensive posture, until they leaped at him. He then ducked and rolled under them, slashing upwards and watching as the sharp blade neatly gutted one of them. He then immediately stood to face the other lion as it landed and spun around to face him again.
"Here kitty." He teased.
Sephira neatly sidestepped the werelion charging at her, then drew two silverplated knives from her waist as she turned to face the cat again as it stopped, turned and growled at her. "Didn't think I was just gonna stand there, did you?" She asked.
Tialyn watched as a werelion charged her way. Her eyes narrowed as she plotted the creature's course toward her. She could see him coming straight toward her on all fours but noticed a slight bunching of its leg muscles. Suddenly the werelion was flying through the air at her after a sudden pounce sent it airborne.  Its claws were splayed outward, sharp, long, and deadly...it's mouth open to reveal glistening fangs. Tialyn ducked and brought up her quarterstaff defensively, but then heaved the staff part lengthwise into the werelion's mouth. The petite Elviri was able to force the werelion in a reverse motion, watching him flip over in the air and land on his back. The snow billowed up around the creature's large body.
Just as she began to rush toward the creature it scrambled to its feet and roared. Tialyn whacked it upside the face, then released her quarterstaff with one hand to remove her dagger from her waist. As it leaped at her, she focused briefly on her defensive shield to momentarily create a barrier around herself. She could only sustain it for a brief few seconds without losing strength, but it was long enough prevent the werelion from reaching her. Tialyn slashed with her dagger, ripping a slash in the creature's chest.
It staggered back, shaking its head and roaring in pain.
The professor stood his ground and waited as bedlam erupted all around him; he kept a firm grip on his torch and his walking stick.  Suddenly, he felt the glare of feral eyes upon him and turned to see a growling werelion creeping up, its fangs bared in a savage grin.  The professor brandished the walking stick and the werelion swiped at it with its claws; the professor took a step backwards and held the walking stick back out of the creature's reach.  Intrigued, the creature edged closer and made another grab for the stick.  The professor leaned back, holding it away.  The werelion's growling sounded like mocking laughter as it stretched its sinewy body forward to seize the walking stick; the professor took the opportunity to strike the monster across the eyes with his torch.  As the lycan howled in pain and covered its face with its paws, the professor clubbed it solidly on the skull with the silver head of the walking stick and it dropped face first into the snow, unconscious.
"They fall for that every time," said the professor, shaking his head.
This time Jo let the werelion awkwardly pounce and knock her off her feet, the lack of force from his injured leg meant the impact wasn't going to leave more than a few bruises on the hume. As she fell she brought up her silver knife and let the werelion's own momentum impale him on her blade in the heart. The werelion stiffened and fell dead atop of her. Joanna telekinetically pushed the dead weight off her and retrieved her knife, then rolled to her feet just as another werelion sought to pin her while she was still lying down. Instinctively she slashed out with her sword and sliced open his throat and looked about sharply for another werelion to fight.
