Supernatural Hunters of Delmi: Part VII

He barely had any time to see the Psiro coming at him with another silver blade and somehow managed to kick him powerfully in the stomach, sending him flying back into a wall. Panting with the effort, Graayth sat up just in time to see the Psiro hobble off into the night, doubled over from the kick which was sure to have broken a rib or two. The werewolf lay back down again, having no choice but to wait until his body recovered enough from the silver reactions to heal the wound to his side. Already the bleeding was just beginning to stop but it would take days for the wounds to heal fully.
Meanwhile, Khazar had been woken by Jair and the pair were travelling to the houses of the rest of the secondary team. Soon they would be organised enough to sweep Delmi and find out if the rest of Jo's team were still alive.

Talyn continued his rounds of the merchant quarter of town, but he was deep in thought. Jair had said that it was a vampire that had attacked Joanna, and he had noticed similar wounds on her neck, indicating that she had been attacked before. Then there was the silver-edged sword that she carried. Silver was supposed to be effective at fighting werewolves, so he concluded that those creatures must exist too. The question was, what was Joanna doing with a specially-made sword and out on the town in the middle of the night when she worked at the Inn? She should have gone home to rest, but she hadn't, and the merchant quarter wasn't near any of the residential quarters that he knew of. He twitched and glanced up sharply when he heard a clattering in the alleyway he was passing that startled him out of his thoughts. He had halfway drawn his sword from it's sheath on his back before he saw the fat raccoon waddling off after finding a treat in the pile of rubbish he must have been digging through. "Now you're getting jumpy." He told himself as he put his sword back and started walking again.

Breanna was sent to Vincent's farm to bring two of his girls as they were uncertain how much energy the Daywalker would require to heal properly. Sephira was a cause for concern as she had been found unconscious with bleeding puncture marks from a vampire. In the end Delphyne had cooked meals for everyone who could eat and ensured they ate it. In Sephira's case Delphyne was kneeling by her bed holding a vial of pungent incense under her nose in order to wake her. Everyone else was sitting in bed eating under the watchful eyes of Jair, Khazar and the secondary Hunters.
Graayth sat on his bed, glad to note that everyone had survived and been safely found and brought to the Inn's basement. His silver inflicted burns were healing very slowly and causing the wounds inflicted to heal slowly. The bleeding had stopped and he was in no danger although he was still in a fair amount of discomfort. He was quietly eating the meal that Delphyne had cooked and brought to him, watching the others with some concern as they either ate or slept.
OOC: Brit, feel free to post your assassination attempt as a flashback.

When Rhiannon finally made it back to the Inn and Vincent was being helped down to the basement, he stopped before they could take him into the room where Joanna was lying. He'd told them instead to bring a bed out of the room and put it in the one they normally used to meet in so that he wouldn't be in the same room as the others. It wasn't that he was afraid that he might forget himself, he wasn't, but Joanna had been attacked by a vampire and he didn't want her waking up and finding herself in the same room with another one. Thankfully, the others didn't argue with him and set him in a chair while they did as he asked, and now he was lying there and waiting for his girls to arrive.

From the far corner of the room, The Professor shouted, "I'm right here, dear girl. Relax. We're all alive and safe, for the moment." He was laying in a bed of his own, sipping herbal tea from a cup and saucer.
"Your neck is all bandaged up," said Eru, grimacing with the spasms of pain that ran up and down her body. "Are you all right? What happened to you?"
"Oh, I was nearly killed," he replied cheerfully. "But it's hardly the first time!"

Vincent was sleeping in his bed out in the meeting room after someone escorted two of his women into the basement. They'd both immediately hurried over, concern and near-panic all over their faces until he assured them that one of the other hunter group had allowed him to feed enough to get him back to the Inn and until they could be fetched. He'd only fed from Millie, then let Sara take care of her as he lay back. He'd had time to think as he'd waited and something didn't add up. As the others had been carried in, it had looked to him as if they'd been nearly killed, but the vampire who'd attacked him hadn't been trying to kill him-otherwise he'd be dead. So what had the old vampire wanted? What was so strange about him, different from other vampires? Why had he used a weapon that almost drained him of his psionic powers? He fell asleep contemplating these questions, and a few others.

Time Stamp: 11:28am.
The Supernatural hunters had stayed in the basement of the Inn to sleep and recover after the assassination attempts on thier lives. Khazar and the others had gone home once they had been assured by Jair and Delphyne that Jo and her team would be well looked after. Most of them had woken up and eaten by now but some of the team still remained asleep. Soon discussions would have to begin in order to plan what to do next and try to find out who had tried to have them assassinated with tailored supernatural assassins for each person. Except of course, Vincent from hadn't been attempted to be killed at all...
Graayth had been awake for three hours or so now and was already getting bored and restless as he sat on his bed. The arrow wounds had faded and were almost healed. But the knife wound in his side was still only partially healed thanks to the fact that they had been inflicted by a silver weapon. He had been wondering, like the others, who had been trying to kill them all. The fact that each assassin had been chosen to capitalize on each hunter's weaknesses mean that the person who hired them either knew them or had been surveying them for a long time. This made Graayth frown. Neither option had any appeal.
Joanna finally woke, squirming and thrashing in bed as she woke from a nightmare. Last night's attack had brought back a lot of unwelcome memories. Weakly she straightened out the blankets and lay back to let herself calm again. Letting her heart rate return and breathing returned to normal. Once she felt a little better she looked around the basement, seeing every member of her team but Vincent. All of them-even the supernatural ones looked injured or unwell. Jo frowned as she sat up carefully and slowly. They'd all been attacked last night.

Vincent hissed as he woke up in his bed in the basement of the Inn. He'd had some very strange dreams about the vampire who had attacked him and he sat up very slowly as he wondered what was so off about it. He winced as he sat back against his pillows-the broken bones had started to heal, but he was still very sore. He glanced up when Sara hurried over, looking very worried. "It's all right." He said. "I'll be all right."
"Are you sure?" Sara asked. "You were awfully weak when we got here." She'd been helping tend to the others while he slept and she was very worried. All of them had been nearly killed, and she wondered what was going on. It seemed that all of them had been attacked at roughly the same time-as if it had been very well-planned.
"I'm sure." Vincent said. He'd probably need to feed again soon, but he could let Sara wait for awhile longer. Right now he wanted to check on the others and see if any of them were waking up. And if Joanna was up to it, he had to tell her about his attacker. He carefully slid out of bed and walked over to the room where the others were and stood in the doorway, cradling his bad arm. He was relieved to see some of them, including Joanna, were awake. "Hi." He said. "Are you all right?" He stayed where he was so he wouldn't make her too nervous.

Tossing and turning restlessly in her bed, Eru did not sleep well. The wounds in her leg and shoulder hurt constantly and caused muscle spasms all up and down her body, and they were not healing well. A couple of times she had tried to turn into her Werewolf form to see if that would speed the healing process, but as soon as she started to transform the pain increased sharply, making her unable to finish the change. She buried her head in her pillow and groaned in frustration-- the constant pain was driving her crazy.

When she heard voices coming from downstairs in the basement, Delphyne went downstairs and checked on the vampire hunters. Most everyone was awake by now including Jo and Sephira. She also saw that Graayth, Arjhay and Eru were in quite a bit of discomfort and pain. She was not a healer but she did keep some painkilling remedies about the Inn just in case someone got injured. She went back upstairs and mixed up three cups of the medicine and came back into the basement. She handed the three cups to Graayth, Arjhay and Eru. "Drink these. They are herbal remedies that should ease the pain." Then Delphyne went back upstairs and to cook a late breakfast for Jo and Sephira.

Sephira was relieved when Jo assured her that she was all right, then she sat up against her pillows and glanced over to where Gaelan was lying. She knew she couldn't have helped him once the vampire attacked her, but she still felt just a little guilty that he'd had to handle that werewolf on his own. She was just thankful that he'd been able to fight it off, for she had passed out before she could look back over and see if he was all right.

"And they may try again." Jo concluded with a heavy sigh after Graayth added his information and conclusions after Vincent told her about his attack rather than assassination attempt. "It sounds then, like he wanted something from you other than killing you." She told Vincent after thinking about it for a few seconds. She felt dread and worry gnaw at her at the idea of a bunch of supernatural assassins lurking in Delmi ready to make another attempt with a very old and powerful vampire amongst them and hired by an unknown individual. She squirmed a littly uncomfortably at the thought. "Thank you for telling me. Maybe with all this time in bed I can figure out a way to turn the tables on them." Joanna wasn't too worried about being attacked in the Inn-not by supernaturals anyway as there were strong anti-supernatural wards around the Inn and her own house.

Sephira listened to the others as she watched Gaelan and she grew uneasy. If it was a group of assassins then they would definitely try again just as soon as they could. She didn't know what they could do to protect themselves from assassins who knew their weaknesses, and what did that old vampire want with Vincent? What did he mean by shadow? She tried to think, but she was still so weak that it was very hard to sit up straight.
Talyn walked into the Inn and sat at a table. He had finished his rounds the night before and gone home to sleep for awhile, still wondering what exactly was going on. Now he was here, both to get lunch and to see if they would let him see Joanna. She had been so weak that he was worried about her. If she was able, he also had some questions that he wanted answers to, at least he hoped to get answers.
