i'm in Kern and i want to urge my fellow EIers who may be in these counties to stay safe. (and pray this mess goes somewhere ELSE :sarcasm:)

In SF, the personality changes from neighborhood to neighborhood are particularly sharp right now.  I'm just glad that these days I'm taking an umbrella everywhere I go.

heh!  You might need to take a flotation device everywhere you go.  Y'all stay safe!

The in-laws--who I got to keep in the divorce (it's a very good thing 'cause they love me)--live in that area and I guess I need to call and check on them.

Wacky weird weather this year all over the place.

I'm in Riverside County, must go out today, not happy about that, but at least there are new bridges since the last time flash floods raged through the wash.  So many of our roads go down into the wash because the floods don't happen often, but when they do, disaster.  Unwary drivers don't know that four inches of rushing water can carry them away, and even when the barriers go up, impatient drivers drive around them, and get carried away.  My route today takes me across two of the new bridges, so with any luck, I won't have to drive extra miles this time.  Sure wish I could stay in and stay dry, though.

I just read that not only OC county and Riverside are declared disaster for funding, but also Qualcomm stadium in SD flooded, sheesh,

so UK and L.A. should get together for a commiserating drink!

^Cheers!    :D

I got lucky yesterday, put off leaving until the sky cleared, and it stayed clear for most of my errands.  Started raining again as I pulled into my driveway, but not the heavy rain we'd been having.    :)

My VA hospital was shut down yesterday because so few made it to work.  All the roads around it were flooded out.  Oddly enough, the staff that made it in included most of the folks I needed to contact, and the phones weren't down, which is really odd since they are down much of the time when the weather is not a factor.        No rain forecast for today, so I'll be heading there soon.
