Name: Thomas (Tommy) Parnell
Hair: Mid brown
Eyes: Greenish blue
Physical Description:5' 9" Slim build but physically fit.
Profession: Mercenary. Will work for the highest bidder. Tommy will also work for a percentage of the value of a job.
Skills: Can use and maintain most weapons. Can also navigate slipstream.
Relatives: Parents deceased. Has an older brother who he has not had any contact with for 15 years.
Personality: A good man to have watching your back. Calm and confident except around Perseids. Tommy has no real reason to be wary of the blue aliens. He simply finds them to be 'creepy'. He will work with them as long as they pay him but he doesn't like them.
Known History: Tommy ended up in the Trabia system after a job went wrong and he was stranded there. Hurt and alone he managed to lie low long enough for his injuries to heal. He has money but cannot access it as he is believed to be dead. He is not sure whether or not he was betrayed or whether it was simply Fate.
He has been working at the most menial tasks to try to earn enough money to take passage to practically anywhere else. He has plenty of contacts who will allow him to get his life back if only he knew who to trust.

Name: Giana Cross
Race: Half-Nietzschean, unknown pride
Place of Origin: Unknown, she hitchhikes about the universe; suspected she comes from Drago-Katsov territory
Skills: Great at hand-to-hand, and she does good work with a blaster (usually goes out as a gun for hire or extra hands when things need to get done). Good at "beating the system" with its own rules, and she's fluent in several languages, including Perseid, with broken speech in several more.
Political Affiliation: Anyone against the Drago-Katsov
Family: Mother, Marana, who she hasn't seen in over 6 years.
Physical Appearance: Green eyes with a bright blue rim around the pupil, lightly tanned/olive-toned skin, and wavy dark brown hair. She's actually rather short for a "good Nietzschean" and is closer to the average for human females, approximately 5' 7", though she usually wears boots that give her an extra inch or two of height but are still balanced enough that she won't fall over if she has to fight in them. She has the typical boneblades thanks to her Nietzschean half, but the blades are a bit short because of the mix. It wouldn't be noticable unless someone was really comparing them, except maybe to another Nietzschean. She isn't plain or unattractive, but she's not gorgeous either, excepting her eyes, naturally.
When she's out in public, Giana always wears a black half-length trench coat. It falls to mid-thigh on her and the sleeves are the usual tight cut on her upper arms, but flare out dramatically at the elbow so that her boneblades are hidden from prying eyes by the full sleeves. Aside from the coat and boots the rest of her clothes rotate between several outfits, though most are comprised of some kind of pants made of flexible fabrics she can move around easily in and sleeveless tops.
Basic Info/Personality: A keep-to-herself sort, she's a wonderful listener and gets many of her happy, caring qualities from her human side. However, this happiness is rarely shown except in the most comfortable of circumstances. The only other time it may make an appearance is when the happiness sometimes acts as her version of a Nietzschean's impassive mask to outsiders, often making it difficult to read her true emotions, and as a way to lure in her unwary prey. Happy people are obviously content with life, trustworthy, and not suspicious at all. Right?
From her Niet half she has a spitfire temper once she gets going, slightly enhanced senses, and a strong immune system, though she isn't as impervious to temperature changes as a full-blood and she can catch a cold-- very unNietzschean of her. She loves to read anything and everything. Despite being Nietzschean, she only fights when it's absolutely necessary, preferring to impassively brush off the fight-starter or smile and let insults go over her head as if they didn't bother her. However, if she sees one of the "weaker" species-- humans, mostly-- in trouble and outnumbered she often feels obligated to lend a hand, if only to throw the attackers off and give her a chance to spirit the helpless person away. She tends to be more brusque when dealing with those who are more submissive than her if she feels the situation needs a guiding hand, but the rest of the time she is quite content to step back and let someone else have the reins. Preferably without them paying her too much notice. Like with Nietzscheans, the best way to deal with them is to pretend you're not there and make them believe it too.
Whenever full-blooded Nietzscheans come around, she shies away, becoming quiet to avoid their gaze or joking to get herself away from their company. When Nietzscheans are around Giana becomes incredibly uncomfortable with the thought of being shunned for something she couldn't help being born as. Having had experience in the past with being targeted for being a half-breed, she also feels uncomfortable because she knows that if they know what she is she might not get away without a few scrapes or worse. Her style of dress plays into this as well, as she wears a coat with sleeves designed to hide her boneblades.
History: Mostly unknown. All she provides in way of information is Giana Cross, out of Marana by Gregorod. It is supposed that she is one of the few half-breed offspring of the Drago-Katsov Pride scattered about the known universe, but anything beyond pure extrapolation is impossible to discern since her genetic impurities make it unlikely she has a Pride, let alone one she wants to talk about.
What she does say is usually restricted to admitting to being born on a drift, not a planet, and that she was close to her mother, who often told her stories of what it was like to live planet-side, which seems to imply a drift close to a populated world.
[For purposes of OOC planning and what not: Her mother was a slave on a human world owned by the Drago-Katsov. She was pretty enough to attract the eye of one of the overseers of her compound (Gregorod), was raped, and the very next day ran and escaped the compound in order to save herself from any repeat performances. She made it to another compound and hid, only to find out several months down the line that she was pregnant. Somehow, she secured passage off the planet, made it to a drift, and hid there, making a new life for herself and her soon-after-born daughter. As she grew, Marana kept her daughter clothed in shirts that hid her boneblades and made her play away from areas populated by the most Nietzschean patrols. Thankfully, the areas of the drift that Giana and her mother moved around in weren't of the cleanest calibur, and Marana thought that would hide her daughter's scent from the patrols. Occasionally a patrol would rough her up, leading to Giana's hostility toward them, but Marana had thoroughly hidden her good looks with creative application of dirt and loose clothes and the incidents were few and far between. Giana grew up knowing she shouldn't go near Nietzscheans in general, and vaguely the why of it, but it wasn't until she was 16 that she got the full story and cemented her severe dislike for the Drago-Katsov.
Knowing that they were surrounded by the members of her father's Pride-- and that she had inherited some of his stronger features that were making themselves known as she got older-- Giana began saving up money from the odd jobs she did around the drift with the long-term intention of taking her mother away from there. In her opinion, it was a miracle she hadn't been pegged as polluted offspring before then and she wasn't going to take any more risks with her or her mother's survival. When she was 18, Giana had a scuffle with some Drago-Katsov guards that took an inappropriately close interest in her, leaving one with a face scar as a token of their exchange before she made a lucky escape. Within an hour she had made it home, collected her mother and the most important of their things, and secured passage for the two of them on a ship leaving the drift. She didn't have the credits she had wanted to have when they left, but it was enough for passage off the drift and a small apartment on a new drift. Half a year later, after making sure her mother was completely settled in, as financially secure as she could make her, and safe, Giana packed what she could carry and left. It was a strategy designed to protect her mother. Scent fades over time, and on the off-chance a passing Dragan came through their new, much cleaner neighborhood, she wanted to have been gone so long he wouldn't know she'd even been there. She hasn't been back to see her mother since. The last thing she wants is to put her at risk or have someone peg her as Drago-Katsov spawn.]
Likes/Hobbies: Reading, honing her hand-to-hand combat skills
Dislikes: Being insulted, the stupid, the ignorant, and Drago-Katsov Nietzscheans
Quote: I dislike Nietzschean males as a rule, and avoid Drago-Katsov of any gender like a plague.

Physical Description: Percy appears as a pedantic, middle-aged man with a high forehead, who wears glasses (an obvious affectation, given even post-Fall medical technology), deals in rare books and other antiquities, and has a penchant for tweed. In other words, a stereotypical academic- and many will dismiss him as precisely that. A more careful observer might notice the holstered forcelance hidden under his coat. In fact he is a Commonwealth-era android, the avatar for the HRC 1 Pursuit of Knowledge, and an agent for the government of the Haven system.
History: When the Pursuit and his crew, including the avatar known as Percy, left on a long-term exploration mission to follow a newly discovered slipstream route that looked as if it might allow the Commonwealth to expand into a fourth galaxy, the Treaty of Antares had just been signed, leading many to hope peace had once more returned. When they returned- the slipstream route having turned out to be a disappointing dead end- the Commonwealth had fallen, the Nietzschean Civil War was raging and the Magog were running merrily amuck. The Pursuit’s Nietzschean Captain, a distinguished scientist from the Raven Pride and one of only two Nietzscheans aboard, persuaded his 400-person, multi-species mixed military and civilian crew, including his Than Argosy XO, to go to Corvus Prime, the homeworld of his pride. Unfortunately, they came out of slipstream only to find Drago-Kasov warships in control of the system, barely managing to escape.
Raven, although a small pride, had been respected for their scholastic and scientific achievements, and had been one of the leading voices among the Prides speaking out against Drago-Kasov plans to overthrow the Commonwealth. The Raven Alpha had argued that even if they were successful in overthrowing the Commonwealth, the inevitable conflict and jockeying for power between the Prides- not to mention hostility from other species due to their actions- would preclude the sort of long-term cooperation needed to set up a replacement to the Commonwealth strong enough to deal with the Magog once and for all. The Drago-Kasov eventually responded by attacking and capturing Corvus Prime, and executing the leading members of Raven Pride, including the Alpha and the Matriarch. The survivors appealed to the Commonwealth for protection, but the Drago-Kasov’s ruthless actions had cowed the other dissenters amongst the Prides and allowed them to launch the attack at Hephaestus before the Commonwealth could respond.
Fortunately, the Raven leadership had had contingency plans in place, loading a small flotilla of armed cargo vessels with the younger members of the Pride and their caretakers and sending them off while the rest of the Pride fought a delaying action against the attackers. The Pursuit eventually managed to join up with this refugee fleet and spent over a year trying to reach the safety of Than-controlled territory, only to be repeatedly blocked by warring Prides, marauding Magog and various other conflicts. The fleet had picked up several other ships by this point, of varying species, and one of them, the captain of a ship whose previous cargoes were of at times dubious legality, revealed her knowledge of a “cargo depot” in a planetary system not on any official list.
System G76CN95E had once been two separate systems, but an ancient collision between them had left a pair of sullenly smoldering brown dwarf stars circling around each other as they slowly spiral into the system’s center. In an eon or two, the two will collide and possibly ignite into a new star.
The only thing of interest to the Commonwealth had been the pair of slipstream portals discovered in the system that, in theory, would have cut three transits out of what had been a major slipstream route. However, the chaotic jumble of dust and rocks between the two portals that had once been a pair of accretion discs would have slowed any ship to the point that any time they might have saved would be lost. Clearing and maintaining a path between the portals was judged too expensive and the route abandoned.
The original survey had however missed the presence of a third slipstream portal, this one leading to a short, three-system slipstream route. The first two systems were unremarkable but the third and final system contained two worlds capable of sustaining oxygen-bearing life. The dozen or so smugglers on the larger and more temperate inner planet, who were without a ship and were waiting for their fellow smugglers to return, quickly joined the refugees, who named the system Haven.
Haven is a constitutional semi-presidential parliamentary republic with universal suffrage- including sentient AIs, although the Pursuit is the only AI in the system sophisticated enough to be considered sentient. The Council, headed by the President, is responsible for foreign policy and protection against external threats, while the Prime Minister and a unicameral Parliament are responsible for domestic policy. The Nietzscheans of Raven Pride make up the largest single species, about 40 percent of the total population of Haven. The Ravens as a Pride have rejected the “every Nietzschean for themselves and their Pride alone” philosophy as epitomized by the Drago-Kasov and others in favor of a philosophy that, while still emphasizing individual achievement and reproductive success, also emphasizes being part of a strong and diverse community.
When Nietzschean Civil War ended and various borders were agreed upon, G76CN95E ended up inside Drago-Kasov space. Fortunately for Haven, the Targowica sector of the Drago-Kasov Empire borders empty space, rather than one of the Pride’s many enemies, and contains little in the way of resources that cannot be obtained just as easily elsewhere, so the Drago-Kasov High Command pays little attention to Targowica beyond using it as a dumping ground for those Pride members lacking in ambition and/or competence. As a consequence, corruption is rife and sector officials easily bribed to look the other way when the occasional tramp freighter “passes through” G76CN95E. The two systems in between it and Haven are also heavily mined and armed, although Haven’s main defense lies in its obscurity. For that reason the Pursuit is not allowed to leave the Haven system, as the Council believes the appearance of a High Guard ship would draw unwanted attention to Targowica from the Drago-Kasov High Command.
The Council also has a cadre of highly-trained and extremely loyal agents that it sends out beyond Haven’s borders. These agents are tasked with, among other things, observing and reporting back to the Council on the wider political, economic and military situation; encouraging unrest, both internal and external, in other sectors of the Drago-Kasov Empire; and seeking out allies strong enough to wrest Targowica from the Drago-Kasov, but not so strong as to threaten Haven’s independence. (This last is considered more theoretical than practical.) This is Percy’s first assignment as a Council agent.
(1) The To Seek, To Find-class High Endurance Research Cruiser is the heart of the High Guard's intergalactic exploration efforts. Capable of long-term, independent operations far from established Slipstream portals in uncharted regions of space, the HRCs are equipped for the study of any new scientific phenomenon or research opportunity. Although well armed in the interest of their own self-defense, these vessels are crewed primarily by civilian scientists and engineers. Traditionally, the CO of an HRC is also the Chief Scientist and is supported by an Argosy XO who oversees the crew and combat operations. An HRC can be recalled for combat duty, but only in the direst emergencies. -From www.SaveAndromeda.com

Name: Athena Bolivar
Species: Nietzschean, female.
Physical Description: Athena has pale skin, blue eyes, and naturally blonde hair. She is tall, strong and athletic.
Profession: Politician, assassin.
Skills: Competent with a range of weapons including knives, blades more traditional weapons like swords, nunchuks, or just about any other you can name, gauss pistol, gauss rifle. She is highly trained in hand to hand combat. She is also a competent ship and slipstream pilot and she knows her way around a ship and engine room. She is a first aider. She is well educated and intelligent, particularly in physics and mathematics. She has first aid training and has an excellent grasp of military and combat tactics and warfare. She is a skilled politician and a persuasive talker when she wishes to be.
Relatives: She has a lot of relatives. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, siblings and half siblings. Her most notable sibling is her half brother Charlemagne Bolivar, Alpha of Sabra-Jaguar.
Known History: Athena is the third child to the former alpha and his second wife of Jaguar Pride before they merged with the Sabrans. As a result she is of some of the highest breeding available to Nietzscheans and is practically a princess. She received a fine education and fine training as she grew up with all her other ‘royal’ brothers and sisters. She is a typical Nietzschean female in many ways, sharing their views of genetic superiority, along with their arrogance and views regarding reproduction. Despite the fact she is an alpha female and could have her pick of just about any male in the pride she has not yet chosen a husband. With many other siblings and half siblings available to marry off and make strong political alliances, Athena’s independence and being slow to choose a husband had been overlooked and she had been allowed to pursue a life of politics and train as an assassin. Officially she never used her assassin training-at least not outside the pride but there were times when she did seem to be ‘unavailable for comment.’ This didn’t stop there being general disapproval from the matriarch and some of the other high ranking Sabra-Jaguars, nor the whispers of disapproval in some places but so long as Charlemagne allowed it and favoured his half-sister there was little that could be done. Indeed, he often found Athena’s political clout and assassin training quite useful though he’d never admit it publically. Perhaps he understands that it’s not that Athena doesn’t want to choose a husband and reproduce. Indeed she does as much as any Nietzschean, merely that she hasn’t yet found a male that wouldn’t immediately expect her to settle down, abandon her current life as an assassin and politician and have whole litters of children and devote herself to raising them. She’d much prefer a balance between them. As such, it’s hard to know where Athena is at any given time unless she is in court because she is often doing little missions for her half-brother that he can’t be seen to be involved in.

Edited to add this:
Okay, so here's the relevant parts that were changed: (if I left Jaguar anywhere in the profile, just ignore )
Name: Erica Desmarais
Species: Nietzschean, Mandau Pride
Family: Sister, Jessamine (3 years older); the rest she has no contact with
Birthplace: Mandau Homeworld (no planet name yet)
Known History: Erica was 18 when she "left" her homeworld and the Nietzschean Mandau Pride. Her father, Arjun Desmarais-- a high-ranking male in the military--had agreed that she would marry a much older Alpha male of a neighboring Pride to further their alliance. Originally Jessamine, her older sister, had been the intended "wife-to-be" before she herself ran away. Erica's mother, the first wife of Arjun, had been against this union but had no choice in the matter.
Erica also has a deeper, darker secret...another reason for leaving her pride that is known for its ruthless mercenaries and expert assassins.

Just a quick post to show you what Meng's half-brother Guan looks like. Not much to say about him, he's greedy, selfish, all those bad things about a Nietzschean and none of the good
Oh, and I added Athena's picture to her profile for anyone interested in why Meng couldn't take his eyes off her

The "Lancer Commander" to be decided by Chatty when she gets home. S/he commands the 80 unnamed Lancers we have aboard the Path now. The Lancers are mostly around to guard and protect the ship both when we're aboard or not.
Ariana Lilcamp - One of the doctors. Human female, mid thirties, brown hair, brown, kinda short with tanned skin. Has a mild and polite personality.
Matt Jones - The other doctor. Human male, late thirties with green eyes, light brown hair, average height. Mid skin tone.
Darren O'Neil - Human male, leader of the otherwise unnamed engineering team but second in command to Kaylee. Average height, red hair, blue eyes, pale skin.
Lucy Bishop - Human female, brown hair, blue eyes, average height. One of the assistant cooks. (Nikki if you want to control her for a sentence or two occasionally go ahead.)
"Nurse" - One of the nurses to be decided by Chatty later.
The rest will remain unnamed unless/until we need them. They're just NPCs in the background so we'll hardly notice them.

I just figured we're not constrained by budget like the Andromeda tv show was. There's no reason a ship the size of Path can't have a much larger NPC 'background' crew. Plus it's an advantage to have night shift/backup crew for when we leave the Path.

Family: There are rumors about either a sister or a twin (not the same being), but she refuses to confirm or deny them.
Skills: Miranda is a technopath, able to control and view sensors and weapons systems, provided the captain is willing, as well as adjust power flow to and from the engines and shields. She's also damnably hard to kill. Rumor has it she once took a blaster shot full in the chest and kept running...supposedly. Survivors are so unreliable, though. Adrenaline makes you see things, you know.
Physical Description: Miranda is tall for a Nietzchean woman, standing at five foot ten. Her long hair is tied back in a ponytail, which seems to add to the pointed, angled features of her face. Her hair is usually a sort of silver-blond (think Malfoy), but she'll occasionally dye the roots black for effect. Miranda has been known to smile occasionally, more often than the usual Nietzchean, but usually only when combining that smile with a witty retort or pistol barrage.
Profession: Professional ass-kicker and Drago-Kazoff irritant. Really, it's not that hard to annoy the Dragons--if you're not with them, you're against them.
Known History: Most Dragon sympathizers know who she is. However, the effort that it would take to kill her is far more than is worth the joke of a bounty on her head. There are other pride members and humans who recognize her or her name, but they're less frequent. She spends most of her time foiling Drago-Kazoff plans and flying around the universe on this merc ship or that one, but she's been planet-side in the Orion Arm systems for the better part of the last couple years for reasons known only to her. Recently, she took a job with Jing as a hired gun.

Name: Lex Ursae
Age: 33 years old?
Ht/Wt: 6', 180 lbs
Hair: Platinum blond hair
Eyes/Skin: Gold eyes/gold skin
Not much is known about the Celestrians except that they live beyond the known worlds. They would have been found by now, except for the Long Night and the lack of progressively exploring civilization. It's known that they know the only known slipstream routes between known civilization and their territory. Only a handful have ever been seen in the three hundred years since the Fall, but there is a rumor that the Commonwealth contacted them shortly before, but it is only a rumor.
Lex is an expert in any and all types of weaponry. He is a skilled hand to hand fighter and is proficient with knives and other bladed weapons. All in all he is a top-notch soldier. He carries a couple of these in special sheathes across his back:
Physically, he has gold skin, gold eyes and sports a long, prehensile tail and pointed ears. He's very monkey-like in his quickness and agility. He prefers to wear leather jumpsuit-like clothing which is custom-made to accommodate his tail, carries several hidden knives on his person and carries a sidearm at his waist.
Personality-wise he's very polite around others and only tells them what he wants them to know.

Her name is Lilly Nash, nurse assistant to Daze and the doctors, head of the nursing staff.
We won't hear much out of her except in the background if one of our characters has to spend time in medical.

Name: Rufus Ohmsford
Species: Heavyworlder human
Ht/Wt: 6'/190 lbs
He's the Lancer Commander, commanding all of the Lancers on Path.
He's very strong due to his being heavyworlder. He's obviously High Guard trained in hand to hand and in weapons and is an excellent Lancer pilot.
When he's off duty, he's very easy-going and relaxed, when he's on duty he's all business.

Name: Elijah (Eli) Greson
Skills: Military training, special forces, weapons, physical combat, etc.
Physical Description: 6'1”; Brown hair; Green eyes; well-built. He's not a cyborg in the literal sense...but Eli was in an military accident four years ago. Skin torn up and unrepairable, replaced with cyborg technology called skinweave, which is a carbonate fiber woven together with living flesh to provide hidden protection against most stun and electrical damage by weapons. He has skinweave on his chest, stomach and back. – helps prevent stun damage and electrical damage by weapons, although something sharp can still penetrate. A bullet close up can still enter his body, although the damage will be “less”. He has it on his chest, stomach, and back.
He also has a cyberlimb on his left side, his entire arm was lost in the accident. The arm and hand are covered with a removable skin colored covering. The only weapon he has installed is a knife shaft that ejects through bending his wrist sharply. The knife comes out a slit in the wrist, then he holds onto the handle. This makes him able to use both arms equally to fight, one to shoot and one to hit or punch/use the knife.
This was all decided while he was unconscious, he had no choice. Has learned to live with it and the advantages. Helps him be a better Lancer, but still resents that he didn't have a choice. On the other hand, he is glad to be alive.
Profession: E2-Lancer First Class, High Guard ground troop/Elite commando corps
Known History: (Short version): Eli was born on Terazad, a planet in a remote place, barely accessible by slipstream that survived the Fall. His family is old High Guard, and so he joined the miliary. He became a Lancer, then when the Path of Dawn arrived he joined the crew to go out into the Known Worlds to assist in the signing of the Charter. He was one of 80 Lancers and their commanding officer that joined.
