Mark: Yes, just be careful when inspecting the problem pipe. Often times, depending on where you live, a critter such as a snake could have lodged itself inside the pipe. I had that happen once on a water pipeline for a football field sprinkler system. It made a mess of the poor snake. Often times, just running a length of sturdy cable inside the pipe will dislodge the offending clog...but sometimes it may take a bit more.
Since the length of stout cable is also called "a snake", you snaked out a snake... or outsnaked a snake... or... excuse me, that teakettle whistle noise means my head is about to explode.
