My favorite game show is Jeopardy.  I watch it whenever I can.  In fact, I once organized a "Happy Hour" Jeopardy watching party at a local Pub.  Anyway, I thought it would be fun to do our own version.

Here are the rules:

Whoever gets the right answer, asks the next question.  The person who posts the questions, gives the category and the dollar amount.  Everyone is responsible for their accumulated score [or I will.  It might be easier]

And remember to put your answer in the form of a question,  :)

OK, here we go!

The category:  Politics
The $: $200

Answer: On September 23, 1952 some 60 million people, the largest TV audience at that time  tuned in for this live address.

Rules for surviving an Autocracy:

Rule#1: Believe the Autocrat.
Rule#2: Do not be taken in by small signs of normality.
Rule#3: Institutions will not save you.
Rule#4: Be outraged.
Rule#5: Don't make compromises.
Rule#6: Remember the future.

Who is Ernesto "Che" Guevara?

How do we assign the categories?
Can I just ask for "Stupid answers" (hey, it's a legitimate Jeopardy category!) for 100?

Edited to add: Oh. Never mind. I've  figured it out:

Topic "Common Bonds" for 100

Answer: on, the boat, candy

The answer is much simpler than that
[if a bit awkward to phrase as a question -- I'll only look for one key word in your answer]

Can we time it out at 9:15 pm EST, Monday (24 hours)? Not many people share my deranged thought.

I had the same thought as Enkephalen, only my thought was: What is speed gloss? So, I'm stumped.

Maybe I misremembered the category "Common Bonds". IIRC, the three items may not be related, but each is related to the unnamed item (or whatever) in some, but not necessarily the same, manner. I guess I only remember the $500/$1000 questions.

How about Politics for $300 instead?

Though he spared the life of his Thanksgiving turkey, the turkey was unable to return the favor.

I'll be back with the next question.  :)

Correct (of course). JFK "spared" his turkey, but didn't pardon it, then died two days before Thanksgiving

Reagan pardoned one, but only as a throwaway joke to diffuse reporter questions on Iran-Contra.

GHWB was the first President to formally pardon a turkey (which, as fictional President Bartlet noted, was outside his Constitutional powers; Bartlet drafted his into the military instead). Good Thanksgiving dinner trivia.

Sorry, that is an incorrect answer.  :)

However, your next question can stand, you just won't get the $ amount for the question.  [YES, that is a rule variation. I think it will move along better this way.]

So, let's say that if you try and give an answer, right or wrong, you can ask another one.  You just don't get the BIG EI bucks.  LOL

Also, out of curiosity Cait, was the 'question' "What is a pouch"?

BTW, just to illustrate my strange thought processes, the common bond in my discarded answer was "rock": Rock on, rock the boat, rock candy.

Category "Twins" for $100

Answer: This acting pair could never complete a full house because they're not two of a kind
