BTW, just to illustrate my strange thought processes, the common bond in my discarded answer was "rock": Rock on, rock the boat, rock candy.

Category "Twins" for $100

Answer: This acting pair could never complete a full house because they're not two of a kind

Who are Ashley and Kate Olsen?

They are fraternal twins, not identical twins.

Be back with another one in a sec.

Oops, Omega got in there, I cede the answer and the floor to him for the next one.

Who is Satan?

But I'd argue that it means "Advocate" as in "the King's Advocate" = prosecutor, who levies charges. Gk. Diabolos (Eng. "The Devil") means "slanderer", which is more like "accuser", but a false accuser.

Rightly or wrongly, most people believe Satan is the Devil anyway, but Satan is the one mentioned in the Book of Job.

Edited to add question:

Category: Common Bonds for $300 (You all have fair warning how my unGooglable mind works)
Answer: Do a little dance, make a little love, run a scam

You can make it $600, if we're in the second round, as the $1000 suggests.
Did you mean $100?

Did you mean $100?

No I meant $1000.  It was originally a Final Jeopardy question, so it was worth that much imo.

Still working on the common bonds. You do have a er unique mind Orph.  :)

He fathered Ajax the lesser and was an Argonaut

Sorry, that is an incorrect answer.  :)

However, your next question can stand, you just won't get the $ amount for the question.  [YES, that is a rule variation. I think it will move along better this way.]

So, let's say that if you try and give an answer, right or wrong, you can ask another one.  You just don't get the BIG EI bucks.  LOL

Chiming in late, macropod means "large-footed."  Macro for large or great and pod for foot. All those years of Latin paid off. :p  Yes, I know, Orph answered in his Orphish way.

I think the answer to Orph's question is "What is quick?"  The dance is a quick step, make a little love is a quickie, and run a scam is a quick profit.

Yeah, but macro and pod are Greek, not Latin  Well, macro could be Latin, but then it would mean "poor, meager, thin" [fr. adj macer] which would completely turn things around. (Is this why my teachers always put "in English" on my exam instructions?)

I actually think I got a little too cute with my last clue (I had a better one all crafted, but then I forgot it)

Here's a revamped version (same solution):
This would have been much harder by itself, but I think it casts light on the earlier clue

A: Display initiative! Walk the streets! Bet you can outperform the other guy!

LOL! You're right. But I still read the meaning correctly for the right reasons (I conceded wrong language), so neener, neener neener!

(And it's ped, not pod, in Latin, hence pedicure.)
