The meeting had concluded with the decision that the people who had brought the wraiths to Delmi had to be stopped and that they would investigate the market next morning. Viella had their night patrol cancelled since they had urgent business to conduct during the day and one of the other Guardian Units covered their shift for them. She and her team went home to sleep overnight and meet up after breakfast in the morning. She had however spent a little time with Vincent before heading home to get to know him a little better-and to make her interest in him quite plain. The conversation had gone well.
Now however, the Guardians had woken up, had breakfast and met up at the HQ. Now they were marching toward the Market Place in their armoured uniforms to deal with the wraith problem....
As Viella had hoped as she and her Unit turned a corner into the main street, the stall vendors were there selling their jars of bottled mist. Or trying to. She noted that most of the denizens of Delmi were walking straight past them. The rest were giving the two foreigners suspicious looks. She stopped walking and discreetly stood so that a wooden stall blocked her and her group from sight. "Well, they're still there." She told them. "We're going to go in and arrest them. Quick, quiet and with no fuss. If they're possessed, Vincent and Emily can remove the wraiths using the ritual that the Professor discovered in the library this morning using their psionic powers." Viella outlined her plan. "Any questions?" She asked.

Now he paid attention as they gathered around the stall and Viella outlined what they were going to do. Confiscate the bottled wraiths and depossess the sellers, for they had to be possessed if they were selling it. They would also need to find anyone who had purchased it, though he couldn't imagine there were very many, judging from the suspicious looks that the shoppers were giving the two sellers. "I'm ready." He said.
Sephira waited with the rest of the group, hidden by a vendor stall, while Viella outlined what they would be doing. She was ready to aid Vincent and Emily, as well as the two vendors if anything should happen. She wasn't anticipating anything terrible going wrong, but she was always prepared, just in case. "I'm ready as well." She said.

Emily watched as the fighters within the Guardians quickly and easily subdued and restrained the two Telmiyaran sellers. When Viella ordered her and Vincent to begin, she stepped forward and summoned the psionic energies both from within her and from her surroundings. When she was ready she focused on the seller in front of her and concentrated as she used her psionic powers to 'push' the mist wraith out of the Hume host. As she did, it emerged from the host's mouth and nose, floated in the air for a few moments then dissipated. Emily sighed in relief and relaxed when it was done.

"You're welcome." Sephira said, smiling at him before turning to Emily and giving her a similar flask. They likely hadn't hurt themselves, but the sugar boost wouldn't hurt either. Besides, they still needed to track down anyone who bought a bottle of mist and make sure they weren't possessed, and if they were, to depossess them.

"Do you know where we might find him?" She asked and he shrugged slightly. "Not exactly but I do know he works for the city guard as a blacksmith." She relaxed a little. "Good enough. We should be able to track him down from that." She regarded the pair for a moment. It did seem that they had regained themselves and weren't going to cause any further problems but it was better to be careful. "Thank you for your assistance. We'll have you taken to the Guardian HQ and checked over by one of our healers. If all goes well you'll be released without further incident." She decided. "Then we'll have to go after this Travis fellow and either stop him from being possessed, or free him." She added.

Sephira wrinkled her brow when the vendor told them that a blacksmith for the Guards had bought a bottle, believing it would get rid of his cough. Why hadn't he gone to a healer? She or Gaelan would have happily helped him. A cough could be caused by any number of things, from simply breathing in dust to something serious. "I'll have to examine him too, to see why he's coughing and why he felt he needed to bypass the healers." She said. "Once we make sure he isn't possessed."

OOC: All players, please be aware these are the closing posts of the arc and game. Very soon we'll be doing epilogue posts as we did in SG-2.

Sephira handed Emily another flask of juice, and then she slowly approached the very recalcitrant blacksmith, very puzzled as to why he was still unhappy. With Viella and Vincent covering her, she knew that she was in no danger, but she watched him carefully as he backed as far away from her as he could. She reached out and took one of his hands, and then she gasped and released it again. "No wonder he wouldn't come to me or another healer." She said. "He's addicted to some kind of opiate, which is likely what's causing the horrible cough." She backed away from him and let the armed Guardians take over. It was really sad, why would someone addict themselves to opiates? She, as a healer, knew the dangers, and why some of them were illegal. The others were tightly controlled by her when she mixed them with other herbs when her patients needed something stronger.
He was going to need to dry out, and that would not be very pretty.

Joanna's adventures had already come to and end after she'd taken the administrator job for the newly formed Guardian Unit. She continued to serve in that role for several years more alongside Talyn, always making sure she had enough time for her young daughter. A couple of years later she became pregnant again and gave birth to a son. Her job as an administrator continued to become more and more part time as she devoted more time to raising her family. Finally she retired and focused on raising her children and spending time with her husband. And after they'd grown up she enjoyed an easy, quiet life although occasionally the Guardians would visit for advice. And when she looked back upon her life during her final years, Joanna found that she was happy with the mark she and her once ragtag band of supernatural hunters had made on the world.
Graayth spent his remaining years with his wife, children and his clan. Their travelling nature didn't change as the lifestyle suited the Ehre Clan. They did however remain friends and allies with the Guardians of Delmi for centuries to come, their knowledge, skills and the training they could provide to young recruits proving invaluable during their visits to the city. He never got in touch with his Hume kin, the Couslands for that was a piece of his past that he had long dismissed.
True to her word, the Goddess Kaneea had the clinic built in Delmi and over the years it became Sandesina's first hospital. Emily worked out of the alchemy laboratory there and her work greatly enhanced Humekind's knowledge of drugs and chemistry. Although she never had contact with the children she already had, Emily eventually married a scholar and librarian that moved to Delmi when the new university was built some five years after the mist wraith problem was dealt with. They had a child together and he grew up to be the custodian and administrator of Eru and Arjhay's library when they were out exploring the world. Ever after, the Vaels continued that role generation after generation. As for Emily, she worked as a Guardian until she reached her fifties, then retired and devoted rest of her life to her alchemical research at the hospital.
Soon after the mist wraith problem was dealt with, Viella got to know Vincent better and the two entered a relationship. It lasted, and endured, and eventually they got married and had two children of their own. Between his winery and the money she'd asked for as part of her boon made the family wealth and it wasn't long before they were considered nobles. She was happy when Vincent managed to Impress a dragon hatchling and when he grew up he got along famously with Melenth. Some said their mating flights were the stuff of legend. Viella remained leader of her Guardian Unit for many years and loyally and steadfastly defended Delmi and its citizens from supernatural threats. Eventually when age caught up with her she succeeded Joanna as Administrator at the HQ. She served ably there until she eventually retired, then she spent her final years with Vincent at his farm with the family.

Once the Wraith problem had been taken care of, things quieted down in Delmi and Vincent was able to spend a lot of time with Viella, which ultimately ended with them getting married just a few months later. Then they had two children, something he had never believed would happen to him. Then, he managed to impress a beautiful white dragon, which he named Storm, who then, with Melenthe as his mate, sired several superior clutches of eggs. His winery, combined with her boon of wealth, moved them up to noble status, but they both continued to faithfully serve the Guardians, Viella as Administrator, succeeding Joanna. Vincent aided her when he could, and then both of them retired to the farm when they felt that they had served long enough and made way for the younger generation. Those years were still the best years of his life.
After the clinic was built, Sephira and Gaelan ran it, treating any and all who needed it, whether they could pay in goods and/or services, or with money. Emily ran the attached lab and both only grew as time passed and became a hospital, with Sephira and Gaelan even training more doctors, turning it into a teaching hospital. After many, many years of service, both to the Guardians and the hospital, and giving birth to three children, two boys and a girl, she and Gaelan retired to their own estate to live out the rest of their lives in peace and happiness.
(Miko wrote a very nice one for Talyn, he got his happily ever after )
