HUMAN SWARMING is a new form of A.I. that uses human input in real-time to create an emergent intelligence...

Check out a SWARM INTELLIGENCE answering the age-old question - "STAR WARS or STAR TREK?"

http://unanimousai.com/star-wars-or-star-trek-we-let-the-swarm-decide/

The video is only 15 seconds, but it's way cool.

The swarm got it wrong, of course. The right answer was Dr Who. Greatest sci-fi of all time. Neither Star Trek nor Star Wars are a match for its longevity, which is the true measure.

I know this thread's old, but i'll answer anyway.  And my  answer is that in this particular case, the A.I.'s answer is based on the opinions of humans.  Therefore, there is no right answer.

The question was about movies. Star Wars of course wins. Series more generally would have to have had a different result.

Thanks for bumping this.

"Emergent (epi-)phenomena" are basically (emergent) results that would be unexpected by analysis of only the underlying phenomena.

The opinions of "we, the phenomena" are irrelevant. "[Once] The avalanche has started, it is too late for the pebbles to vote."

A debate of "Star Trek vs Star Wars" that concluded, off-the-list, "the Kardashians" would be a better example of Emergence.

Star Wars! You're too funny!

I love that scene in the first movie stolen from a Star Trek episode, where Obi Wan reacts to the destruction of Alderon. It was an exact re-enactment of  Spork reacting to the death of a whole Vulcan ship and its crew.

Star Trek was original. Star Wars was a copy.

Star Trek invented the vocabulary, from "shields" to pretty much everything.

Star Wars was just a cheap copy.

Star wars is a copy but simultaneously Star trek has recently tried and keeps failing to successfully copy Star wars they are ignoring the whole point of Star trek which is that it's utopian world not one where you regularly kill family members

There's no artificial gravity on the new Star Trek ships. What holds everyone down is that J. J. Abrams sucks.
