The next Presidential debate has a town-hall format, and they are accepting questions submitted on and voted on on-line from this website:

You will have to register, and it requires a zip-code. There is a handy search feature to see if your question has been asked.

H'm . . . I'm a mite suspicious. I can't see the candidates going for this without item-by-item approval.
