So, results are beginning to come in, and I'm really sad because the races seem to be so tight. It means that the country really is divided, and that means there isn't a light at the end of the tunnel. This is going to be a long hard fight to defeat Trumpism.

With the early voting high turn out I had though that there was a chance... I wonder if the turn out stayed consistently high including today and whether the high turn out was both parties, or if turn out collapsed today and Dems voted early.... In either case I think it is very hard to claim that Republican turn out was suppressed. Of course hard to give a blanket statement on all of this when so there are so many races....

There have been some bright lights, though few (so far) of the very well known ones it seems....

I read online today that some poll or other that says support for Trump by white evangelicals was 75%, only down 5-6% from last time. They account for ~15% of the populations IIRC (down from ~17%).

Yeah, I'm feeling pretty sad, too.   I'm not sure what happens to the strength of activism that is needed to keep resisting, if we don't see results from it.

I went to bed before the results were mostly in (shortly after my post yesterday) and haven't have a chance today to figure out the results....

Who I feel most for right now, besides those marginalized communities that will be harmed under Trump... Is those Parkland kids. Not to say they didn't have any success in getting out the youth vote or the sensible-gun-policy vote (and converts). But to have bared their pain publically and channel it into activism and still have (IIUC) the Republican NRA-brown-nosers win their states Senate seat and Govenor seat has got to hurt.

Trump sure looked rattled, and like he's been up since yesterday.

Tee-hee. He's crapping his pants because not only is the Mueller Investigation now bullet-proof from his interference, but now the Senate can demand to see his income tax returns, and lots o' other goodies.

I'll admit I wanted a blue tsunami to completely reject him, but I will settle for a Dem House with subpoena power.

And the fat man does look rattled. It's making this a really good day for me... :p
