^ Yes, and what a loving tribute it was!  :humble:  And not just to Kaiju movies, but to all the people who made them, as well.  :humble:

RJ, you should check how many episodes of Legends stay available on demand at a time.  On the CW website, and their Roku app, it is only the last five episodes at a time.

Hopefully I will have a chance to finish my legends guide in the next few days.  I was traveling for a week (and for the first few days I had no power cord for my laptop! :freakoutnonny: :freakoutnonny: :freakoutnonny: ), but I'm back now.  :)

Loving but historically inaccurate, since they basically conflated director Ishiro Honda, producer Tomoyuki Tanaka, and FX creator Eiji Tsuburaya (who initially pitched a giant-octopus movie in 1951, three years before Tanaka conceived Godzilla and hired Honda to direct) into a single composite character.

Probably the same, but I'll take a look.  It does seem like a fun show.

Well, that was pretty cool, with a nifty giant monster.  It's kind of interesting that Big Gruff Guy turned out to be a writer-- he's not very good at punctuation or A&P, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for plot, characterization, and sex scenes.  When I saw that the monster was a giant octopus, I expected them to tie it in with that little statue on the table, but they didn't (although they did kind of focus on it for a second).

By the way, my best guess for the etymology of "Tagumo" as the monster name is that it's a portmanteau of tako (octopus) and oogumo (giant spider, the name for a type of yokai/demon), much like Godzilla/Gojira is a portmanteau of gorira (gorilla) and kujira (whale).

There were plenty of gems in this episode I didn't comment on yet.

The funny moments with Mick:
"I was watching porn."  "... On a typewriter?"
"I was thinking about a fourth boob."  "Three was plenty."

And the special moments:
"We all deal with our pain in different ways, and you chose art.  And that's beautiful."

Oh, and one more thing:

"Let's make like a tree and leave."  :spew:  Now that they have Biff Thomas F. Wilson as a regular, they are referencing Back to the Future!  Because of course they have to!!!  :howling:

Meanwhile, last week's The Flash episode (a 100th-episode time-travel retrospective) had a character play Huey Lewis and the News's "Back in Time" (the end title theme song for BTTF) as mood music. And I'm sure they've referenced the film before. So the film does exist as a work of fiction in Arrowverse continuity, so it could get a little tricky if they go too far with the Hank/Biff Tannen in-jokes.

Yeah, they must have referenced it a few times by now, probably on both Legends and the Flash, they do make a lot of pop culture references and it was bound to come up anyway.  So yeah, could get tricky, but knowing this show they can meta-hand-wave anything!    They could even have a "hey, you look like..." moment.  Or probably something more creative than that if they want to!  (Remember how they handled "Guest Starring John Noble"?  )

Four would have made sense. Three is just distracting, and not in a good way, because it nags at me like the life raft in Temple of Doom.  The character was basically human, or at least humanoid, and bilaterally symmetrical, so three boobs makes no sense.  The number of mammary glands in mammals is (almost) always double the typical birth number in that species. Humans normally have singleton deliveries, so we have two.  Dogs and cats have litters, so they have more.  So it is an unlikely development.  Unless it's some sort of cosmetic choice among her people, like piercings and tattoos.....

She's a fictional character from Mick Rory's trashy sci-fi novel. Her anatomy being unrealistic is pretty much the point.
