So, Catherine, head of Hamilton Industries, was responsible for feeding Jacob Kane the false information about his missing daughter.  While her reasoning might well have been altruistic, the fact that she ended up marrying him, and then chose to protect the secret kind of undermines her altruism.  Now, I’m wondering just who Jacob Kane was, other than a poor relation of Bruce Wayne, and why Catherine was so interested in him and his family’s well-being, given that she is part of Gotham City Society.  I would have expected such a person to be aiming a mite higher on the social register.

OTOH, Batwoman/Kate Kane came off poorly in this episode thanks to that mishap with the batarang.  It just appears that she went out without familiarizing herself with her gear and any quirks it might had, and she was so intent on looking cool she couldn’t be bothered to extend her hand the needed distance to catch the wayward projectile.  This belies the military (and other) training she had taken.

Then, also, the constant calls pretty much sabotaged her attempt at a social life.

However, I did like that Mary is a Batwoman fangirl, and was willing to go above and beyond to help her.

Sophie … I have to wonder why she was no longer attached to Mary, and appears to be acting as something of a free agent within the Crows.  Was this even addressed in the episode?

Finally, there’s her whole idea of Real Estate Philanthropy.  I’m hoping the writers are going to at least keep this a plot point, touching on just how involved this venture is (not only buying property, but inspections, repairs and renovations to bring buildings up to code, which would be a tremendous loss leader, plus taxes and insurance, as well as expenses of normal upkeep and the desire to keep rents affordable).  After all, without a sufficient amount of income, no fortune is inexhaustible, and I’m thinking it’d be desirable for her real estate ventures to be self-sustaining.

Admittedly, all of this would be diving into the issues of affordable housing, deferred maintenance, and profiteering … which I suspect falls outside the showrunner’s intent for the show, but it is something where I wish it would be touched on, and maybe an episode spent dealing with it as Kate Kane becomes a rising force in Gotham real estate.

Oh, did they actually mention that Kate Kane was the named heir to the Wayne Fortune, or would this enterprise be handled in Bruce Wayne’s name.
