Donald Trump has taken direct control of the justice department, to benefit his allies.  Nobody in the department is stopping him.  Pence won't.  The Senate won't.  Nobody else can.  And he won't stop himself.  I have no hope for American freedom lasting the year.

His next move will be to arrest his opponents, and declare the November election either cancelled or invalid. The day that happens, America becomes a dictatorship.  Criticism will no longer be safe.

At that time, there will be two options to remain safe: remain silent, or flee the country.  I recommend anyone with the option to flee, do so.  I do not have that option, and I must remain safe, for my children.  As such, at that time I will delete all my personal public postings, here and elsewhere.

Those of you who choose safety, or those who choose less-safe paths, God be with you.  I hope to see you on the other side.

In life there are two major option. Fight or Flee.

I'm more the hide out in my ivory tower in an open minded, socialist country and fight with my keyboard type.

It is apparent that Trump is trying to run a dictatorship. What does he have on folks that make them so afraid of him?
He is only human as well as being diagnosed as a narcissist slowly loosing his cognitive abilities.   He is known for being one of forerunners in the game of who can tell the most lies. He also behaves like a snake oil salesman at a two bit Carney.

I'm thinking the underage sex trade slaves are his key to power.  Not saying we should lower the age of consent but encourage those who have been victimized to speak out. This is happening BTW. Prince Andrew is in big do do over his romance with a 15 year old. She got too old to be trap bait and is now on a champagne to right these wrongs. Her US pimp just died in jail BTW. Somehow he managed to kill himself while on suicide watch?

Let this crime against children be known if you want to take this fight into the arena of public opinion.
Even if it is all some trumped up conspiracy, fighting lies with lies is fair play. It's a matter of how much you treasure your scruples and to what end will your lies lead to.
Just remember to compose all your assumptions with a question mark at the end. We still have free speech, and can not be persecuted for asking questions.

This was predicted in America's Last President, a book about Twitler.

In addition to fight or flight,
There is also freeze, & comply (fawn, tend, befriend).
All fall under involuntary instinctual response to immediate threats.
All have worked enough for our ancestors enough times in the past that these traits survived to the present day.

Though in ongoing slow-moving threats people more purposefully use them to determine how they will respond.
Depending on their goal (simply or strictly survival, or something else?), and how best to pursue it in the conditions they live under. One may also give the appearance of doing one, while doing another under the radar.

Rules for surviving an Autocracy:

Rule#1: Believe the Autocrat.
Rule#2: Do not be taken in by small signs of normality.
Rule#3: Institutions will not save you.
Rule#4: Be outraged.
Rule#5: Don't make compromises.
Rule#6: Remember the future.

Middle-aged woman exclaims, on hearing about Buttigieg's sexual orientation, "Oh, we can't have someone like THAT in the White House . . . "

And I thought attitudes like that went out in the 60's. Silly me. Posted Image:)

. . . and how did someone from the 60's manage to grow up to be an old biddy such as you used to see in the 50's?

The mind boggles.

Just watched a documentary on the Iran/Contra Scandal. I'd forgotten what a pair of crooks Reagan and Bush Sr were, AND how similar their doings were to Trump: pardoning criminals, blocking crooks from being tried and/or outed, the whole 9 yards.

So there's a GOP precedent for Twitler's behaviour.

No question Trump would be dictator for life if he could and has plans to make that happen. FWIW I doubt he'll succeed, but your fear is certainly legitimate and very well-founded, Omega. All the best to you and your family and everyone else here.

Great. Fleeing is looking better and better, and now no country will have diseased riff-raff like Americans.

Now I feel sad over giving Trudeau the thumb up over his decision to keep the boarder closed for non essential visitors, for another month.
We are only trying to protect ourselves from a society that appears to value their freedom to kill primarily senior's with their spittle over protecting their loved ones.

Somehow the call to a mask up has been seen as a way to control people not protect them, in the States.

Is it true that if you do not have health insurance and walk into a hospital fully infected, they send you away?
Here, even if you are only suspected of being in contact with the bug, you are quarantined until your test proves negative.

Not just people in the States.  I understand that Covid 19 is rea and can be fatall but, I think it is being blown out of proportion to further some new/old form of McCarthyism.

Quote

McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence. The term refers to U.S. senator Joseph McCarthy (R-Wisconsin) and has its origins in the period in the United States known as the Second Red Scare, lasting from the late 1940s through the 1950s.

Please be sure to watch this right to the end otherwise what I am trying to say does not make sense.  Plus, it's worth it.

I've seen that video in part before but it was being busted for being BS.

Bit of a controversy over the type of mask in the comments of the bust.
The cloth and n-95 are condemned but what about the thin operating masks all surgeons wear?

I will admit that my own masks have to be pulled down below my nose so I can breath properly, more a cardiac problem clearing itself up then the fault of the mask.  I picked up some operating masks yesterday. Since I had no problem wearing them in the hospital hallways they should work for me.

Some humor to the masks:
I was having blood tests and the lighting was so weird in the first waiting room that one looked transparent with red and purple squiggles, the other made the women doing most of the talking seem so distorted that I could not keep my eyes off her appearing as some alien being hiding behind the mask!
Saw them later in better lighting, the transparent one was solid colored circles, the freaky one looked normal.
