DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
"Mr. Parker's Cul-De-Sac" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

FAMILY AFFAIR - Ray (Brandon Routh) plans a date night for him and Nora (Courtney Ford), but all goes awry when an Encore shows up making the team think on their feet and create a lie to keep the Encore at bay. While trying to fool the Encore, Ava (Jes Macallan) learns what Sara (Caity Lotz) was really doing while she was away and confronts her. Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Constantine (Matt Ryan) make a deal to work together, which will benefit both of them. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) is upset when he gets negative comments about his book, so Zari (Tala Ashe) helps track down who the critic is, and Rory gets more than he bargained for.

Nick Zano and Olivia Swann also star. Ben Bray directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & James Eagan (#506). Original airdate 3/10/2020.

Well, that turned out to be a pivotal episode.  Ray and Nora got hitched!  The episode was kind of like Three's Company meets Mister Rogers, with some domestic comedy impinging on the world of Dark Magic, then getting sorted out on a PBS children's show.

And then there was that little scene where they rescued Gary from the railroad tracks.  I hope they do a full-on Western at some point.

The dinner was hilarious, with Sarah and Ava pretending to be minions, and Constantine pretending to be Nora's boyfriend. Constantine is hilarious no matter what he does. I cracked up when he pulled off his Antarctic hiking ensemble and he had his usual rumpled outfit under it.

And it was kind of surprising that the Evil Dark Sorcerer just kind of let it all go and put Nora's happiness first-- even participating in the impromptu wedding.  Not to mention sending himself back to Hell with the green sword.  It was touching, but seemed kind of sudden, but perhaps there was precedent from his previous appearance.

And, in other news, Mick discovers that he has a teenage daughter from an impromptu sexual encounter he had about a week ago.  These are the aspects of time travel you really need to keep in mind.  And something tells me that the Men-In-Black memory flash is not the final word on that subplot.

They've done several, usually with Jonah Hex involved.

Yes, there was. Damien already redeemed himself by sacrificing himself for Nora in the finale of the season before last (which was also in the Old West). But old evil habits die hard, I guess, even if one is already dead.

LOL!

Western!  And a wedding!  And Damien Darhk!  And puppets!  And not!MrRogers! And ... Gary-the-unspeakable-train-abomination?!!  :laughtears:

How did they fit all that in one episode??  :howling:

"Is Mr. Parker getting tipsy?"
"He's filmed 4,000 hours of kids TV, he's earned it."

---

Something of a theme here between two of the plot lines, about troubled father-daughter relationships.

Mick has a lot of issues to work through before he accepts that he can act as a father.  Though I know he wouldn't even contemplate it if he hadn't already worked out some of his issues with his own father.  He really has transformed so much over the course of the series.

Damien however ... Oh dear.  The entire lessen they had him learn here, and he didn't learn it at all!!!

The lesson was supposed to be: He wants Nora to be happy, but the best way to do that is to let her decide what she wants for herself, and support her in that.  Not to decide for her based on what he thinks she should want.  And he supposedly learned that!

So what does he do?  He turns around and makes another decision for her behind her back!  Deciding what he thinks is the best way to live her chosen path!  Seriously!!!

(BTW, there are a few things going around the internet of Brandon Routh saying he is unhappy with how Ray and Nora's exit was handled on the show.  Apparently he and Courtney didn't choose to leave, the show-runner ordered it and that was that.    I don't know all the details though.)

---

Anyway, so many funny and awesome little moments in this episode, I just feel like listing them!

Constantine spitting in the library!

Sarah: "What are you still doing here?"
Zari: "Exfoliating."
:hehe:

Gary tied to train tracks! :o

And then he gets turned into a train!  Which he said cured his fear of trains ... was he always afraid of trains, or was that caused by being tied to the tracks?!?

Damien called Astra's plan a "Soul harvesting pyramid scheme".  He's not wrong!

Zari, *reading Mick's book*: "This is extremely pornographic."
Mick: "Thank you."

Sarah and Ava as "Hench-people"!

"Do it for book club!"

Why does he keep changing his shoes?
Oh, changing his shoes is a soothing ritual which takes him from one space to another.

Do you need to change your shoes?
I think I do.

Quote from transcript: https://tvshowtransc...86beae63fae791d

"My standards were low and his sperm count was high."
:laughtears:

Ray trying to mime "moose"!  :howling:

And apparently, there is no chocolate in hell! :oh:

All the proposal hijinks!  :howling:

"Dad, I am not a child! You can't just kill my friends anymore!"
:o So much baggage in that one line.  :(

All the scenes once they were in the "Mr. Parker" TV show!!! :howling:  :spew:

Damien talking gibberish!

Gary train: "Chugga-chugga whee!"

Nate as the sun, just giggling!

And the wedding!  Gary did get to be the Flower boy!

---

Oh, and Sarah & Ava!  Sarah is willing to get a real job and apartment, to settle down with Ava.    Only to find out that Ava is very happy with them living together on the Waverider!

SFG

PS. RJ I will reply to your comments in a bit.  :)
