Davis supporters cried out "RECALL!".

And Davis said no.

He said not to recall the next governor.

I gotta admit... I don't like Davis, but he ended his governorship well.

How appallingly petty.

I'm listening to this now, and his supporters are, um, crass. :Oo:

Davis is giving a fairly charismatic speech once it's too late to do him an iota of good... just like Al Gore did. HUH????

If he had displayed this much personality during the campaign, he might've stood a chance of surviving it...

And when he said "The Californians have chosen somebody elso to lead", they started BOOING. Unbelievable.
EDIT: And when he said Arnold, they booed to.

I'm watching this speech, and I'm amazed...

Charisma and personality and grace.

Amazing.

I can only come to one conclusion:

This is not Gray Davis.

The individual delivering this speech is actually some manner of automaton designed to give Davis a personality, but the manufacturer delivered it too late...

I just realized also, the Scifi channel can call itself the Governors channel this week. It's showing "The Running Man" this week, Wednesday or Thursday night, starring Governors Ventura and Governor Arnold!!!

How's Gary Coleman taking his defeat?

Running Man (ROFL), Total Recall and another movie that I can't remember on Sci-Fi this Thursday.

Even though I generally support efforts to remove racial oversensitivity and such in general, I can honestly say that I'm not crying that P. 54 is probably going to lose.  The police clause really was starting to bug me.  I can't, for the life of me, understand why someone would put that in, since it would very plainly make it more difficult to keep up equality before the law.   I'm not in favor of racial preference, but I'm definitely against racial discrimination.  Actually, they are both actually the same thing, when it comes down to it.

As for the Governor's race, I'd have probably gone for McClintock.  I'm with everyone else when I think Arnold is more of a Democrat than some Democrats, but at least he is not a Democrat.  :p

Agreed about the police clause Uncle Sid.

It was like, yeah let law enforcment continue to use race in doing what they do but god forbid it be a factor elsewhere.

If the goal was to eliminate race as a factor in things like government contracts then why not write a proposal that specifically deals with the criteria for awarding government contracts?

Yep.

I was actually in support of Larry Flint in the early part of the race.  He is honest about being a smut peddler and was going to make prostitution legal to raise tax money. Since it already happens might as well make money off of it to pay back the 9 billion that was illegally ripped out of this state by corporate hanky panky.

I mean, at least Larry and Mary are up front and honest about exploiting sexuality for their gain.  Arnold is a sexual predator that humiliates the women who he cops a feel from and he is in denial about how sick he is.
