Isn't it about time you got a little more LV in your life?

I was very  :alien: with envy reading all the Comic-Con reports last year.  I had hoped to get away for at least Friday, but then semi-usual emergencies popped up so I couldn't get away.  Anyhoo, my pointed ears is that I have to work out my 2004 vacation schedule pretty soon and I'm marking off the week of July 22nd-25th (after all, I'm only three hours away from S.D.)  Are there other EIers who have already decided to be there?

Thanks,

LV

I don't know. I'm going (health permitting) where the official Ex-Isler gathering is going and that won't be decided for several months to come.

We'll see what happens.

I know G1223 and Heropa pre-bought tickets, so they'll likely be going....I'm waiting to see where the "official" gathering is chosen and then see if I can afford getting there, since I'll likely only be able to afford one major road trip....

Actually we are talking about putting the poll up in a couple of months just after the new year.

Heropa prepaid  I just need to consider if I am going if this is NOT where we have the gathering.

BTW This is still leading by a few paces Toronto. Both places have VERY good Merits but I live in the midwest and going someplace that is not humid sounds good. (compared to the midwest in Summer SanDiego is my choice.)

The basic question of a gathering will be are Ash Zack Jill and Maybe Seth goingto want to consider comming to Toronto?  I wanted to spend time with them and   such but I will go where the group decides.

Well, in all honesty, a big factor in where I go is 'The Poster'....I still need Lexa and Lisa's sigs, and will make great effort to attend a con one or both (ideally both) might grace with their presence....but I also need Zack and (again, ideally) Robert's as well, so it'd be great if they made it to a gathering, too... *hint, hint*

Regardless, it'd be great to see all of them and hang out like we did this past one...

Oh, I need Kevin's as well....just to be complete... ;)

I'm keeping this in mind , especially since I live only a short plane trip from San Diego.  Toronto would be great to go to, I think but that would be harder for me to get to for time and cost.

It's just a little too early to tell, I think.

I also have Tulsa Trek Expo in June on my wish calendar for next year.  I can do both if I go to San Diego for Comic con.

Toronto Trek now has a weekend - July 2-4 - and a site.

The fact that it's the long weekend may be good for some, and not so good for others.  It's not great for me, but I'll likely be there, whether we have an EI gathering or not.

thanks, though actually

The whole shebang is dependant on my house selling

if it does, i manage to get out from under my current crippling situation where I am paying both a mortgage and rent, it will allow me to move to a cheaper place (which I need a 10 grand deposit for, which will also be provided for by the sale) and allow me to come

if not, well, even witht he best will in the world, if it isn't sold by them i am, to quote the vernacular screwed, because I am barely making rent as it is, i cannot afford to be in my current situation 10 months from now.

I'm sorry if I'm jumping the gun a little bit.  It's not my intent to force a choice of locations on folks, or decide where an official EI gathering will be.  (Some of the con reports hinted that there would be a gathering there next year, at least to me.)  I know this is premature for some.

But I have to have my next year's vacation plans settled before the end of this year at the very latest, and the sooner the better.  I'm hoping that whatever is decided about an official gathering that there will be people there at least unofficially (or superficially to steal from Small Soldiers.)  At first I started the thread with the thinking "well, if others are going I will," but then I realized that I'd like to go just to be there, and I'm responsible for setting up my vacation schedule.  Sooo I was just wondering in my own muddle-headed way if anyone else knows they'll already be there.

*edit* Dangit, had to hit reply prematurely.  I also wanted to say thanks G, Gode, paris, rommie, shambalayogi, Rhys, Dan, Josh & anyone I missed for responding so far.  ;)
