Forum Terms & RulesMembership on Ex Isle is governed by this document, the Guidelines and other posted rules of the Board, the Guidelines of the individual forums, and the decisions of the Staff. Members are expected to be familiar with the current Guidelines, linked at the top of each page. They are mostly commonsense rules for the smooth functioning of our community, aimed at maintaining a culture of civility and friendliness.Each member is permitted to have only one account. Using or attempting to create multiple accounts is grounds for sanctions, up to permanent closure of all implicated accounts and banning of the responsible parties. To help us enforce this rule, use of proxies is not permitted, unless specifically approved by an Admin. Ask us!You are responsible for keeping your login and password private. Accounts used by other members (effectively acting as dual accounts) may be treated as duals by the staff, and immediately closed at staff discretion. This is a basic computing practice: an account is not a personal possession, it's a nontransferable privilege. Any high school or college student today knows they can lose their privileges if they yield their school account to another student or a hungry commercial startup, Every worker knows they can be fired for giving access to a Company system to someone else. That's life in the 21st century, folks (and a good chunk of the 20th). You can't share *your* access.Attempts to violate Board security policy or conduct/aid unauthorized access, threats against the board, or other actions that interfere with the smooth operation of the board are grounds for sanctions, ranging from a warning to permanent closure of all implicated accounts, banning, and/or notification of legal/government authorities.We are not responsible for any messages posted.
