A most beautiful Sunday Afternoon to you all, even if it's overcast and chilly, like it is here in the true north, strong, and etcetera...

After much time alone in a dark room with nothing but a large mug of coffee and a newspaper...  or more accurately my kitchen early Friday morning... I came to the conclusion that the time had come (without going into the boring details) for me turn in my key to the Staff Lounge, return the company jet, the company ferrari, and the company limbo bar, wash out my giant coffee mug, and shed the blue bar.

(A cruder me would make a joke here about 'blue bars', but I locked him in the basement.  On the downside, he now schools me at 8-ball whenever I go down to play.)

Therefore, effective really really soon after I post this, the lovely, wonderful, and incredibly capable GiGi will be leaving her tiki hut and umbrella'd drinks behind at The Beach, and will be taking over my duties in General Media Discussion.

I'm sure everything will continue to thrive under her guidance, and that someone will be along to join LoP in his duties at the beach - though whom that lad or lass will be, I cannot tell you.

A folk once asked me how I moderated.  I thought I'd borrow a line from a leprechaun named Mad Sweeney and say "I did it with panache and style.  That's how I did it."

How I *really* moderated, well, I'll leave that for you all to decide.

This isn't goodbye, mind you.  This is just me taking a new path down ExIsle way.

Thanks for everything, everyone :)  It was my honour.

See you out there.

Yours, Once and always,

Jid :)

{{{{{{{{{Jid}}}}}}}}}}

Thanks so much for all that you have done.

I will do my best to continue to mod at GMD in the spirit of -  "I did it with panache and style. That's how I did it."

I am so glad you will be around.  Perhaps when the dust settles I can buy you one of those umbrella drinks!   ;)

Best Wishes,

GiGi

C U Jid, I don't really know what you have done around here, but all the mods do good jobs and if you were a mod, you deserve praise. :)

So how many people decline to be a mod if asked.  I don't think I really would want to ever be a mod, and I am sure you only ask people who you think might be up for it, but how many people after that actually decline to be a mod?
