Squidbillies and Super Milk Chan a great big "Huh?" from Adult Swim...

O.k. I watched these two "premier" shows, (well, o.k. I recorded them last night, and just finished watching the tape) that have been getting heavy promo rotation on AS recently.

Squidbillies was possibly the worst show imaginable. It was so bad that it makes Aqua Teen Hunger Force look like Shakespear, and Harvey Birdman look like "The Practice", and Space Ghost C-to-C look like The Daily Show crossed with Oprah.

Super Milk Chan was like having an LSD halucination, but with out the drugs, or the semi-interesting internal monologue. I imagine that it is a hit in Japan, but Hamtaro is less gaudy and more subtle.

After the success of the Venture Brothers, I was agape at how awful these two were, and I can only hope that these are "jokes" rather than real series.

I am not sure, but I think Adult Swim has finally "jumped the shark"...

Agreed, wholeheartedly. The Super Milk-Chan Show is something that I've heavily avoided, and I'm the anime buff around here. So that's saying something.......and I can't believe that CN even developed that Squidbillies show.

They need to push up production of Sealab 2021.........FAST!!

Oh, yeah, and 2021 looks like Dallas in comparison...

Worst of all, (o.k. another worst of all) I think it is the same production team that did ATHF and 2021.

Did you even watch the Squidbillies Rommie? I didn't but it turned out that the show was everythign BUT about the Squidbillies. Seems the producers got bored and gave up on the concept some time ago and what aired was some sort of weird Salor Moon parody thing . Now I'm hoping they re-air that Thursday so I can find out for certain what actually aired.

As for Super Milk Chan - it was better than I thought it was going to be (I'd heard it was really really bad). I actually got a few of the sight gags, which surprised me (didn't know Japanese kids did the W X Y paper joke - very 4th grade of them ;) ). Anyway, IMO it may find people who like it but over all I don't care if I see it again, one way or the other.

Make sure to watch the whole 1/2 hour, including the Space Ghost "discussion" meeting afterwards, which has one of the squidbillie characters in it.
