Who's next? Kevin Sorbo? :D
So long ago, another life,
I can feel your heartbeat,
It's not a dream, remember us,
I can see it in your eyes.
We'll find a place in time, a place in time
Beyond the sun, we'll find a place in time, a place in time to go along...

Oy - Sorbo. Don't give me nightmares.

I'm not entirely sure that I'm in favor of Walken's politics, the little that you can see from what's up on the website right now. When I loaded the page there was a quote (and I guess they are randomly generated, cause I couldn't see it again to make sure I was quoting it correctly) that said "If you want to build a house, build a house. Don't ask anybody about it, just build it." or something to that effect.
And I tend to think that asking professionals, and getting a little bit of input before starting a project is a good thing. It all gives me the feeling that he's just trying to come up with quotes to make himself sound good.

Though I do like the idea of somebody just running on ideas, instead of a political party. Perhaps this is the way to solve some problems in America that seem to me to stem from the existance of political parties. Then again - we've had an actor as a president before, and I, personally, don't want to revisit that experience.

I love Christopher Walken. He's so original and dry and full of surprises, but I have no idea as to his politicial leanings. And I certainly can't imagine him in a high office.

If Swarzenegger and that wrestler guy can do it, though, why not? I think I'd vote for Walker over the other two. :)

Well, it's hard to tell where he stands. He seems to take some positions form both the left and the right.

I might just vote for him for no other reason than to hear him deliver the State of the Union speech! ;)

Walken would certainly make presidential debates interesting!

Well, I'll give him a serious look see. His mission statement sounds good but I need to see some real actionable plans. That was my problem with the Democratic Party in the last election and will be a concern in the next. Pandering to get the vote just doesn't cut it for me.

He's not a B-movie actor, a B-movie actor would be for example, Lorenzo Lamas or Lori Petty. Christopher Walken is a well-respected character actor with a long list of accolades.

Does he command $20M + for a role??

No?? Then's he B-List.
Goodbye.

Easy, guys. He puts his pants on, just like the rest of you, one leg at a time.

Except, once his pants are on, he makes gold records.

:D

There's a difference between the B-list and B-movies. There is a large grouping of character actors that star in major pictures but don't have the leading roles because they are wanted for thier ability to be characters rather than simply be the famous face. Christopher Walken has played memorable characters in such movies as The Deer Hunter, Pulp Fiction, Batman Returns, and Man on Fire just to name a few.
Here's his imdb entry,
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000686/

He may not be the hieght of fame but he is a well respected character actor with a large body of work that doesn't include much in the way of the cheap action films, sci-fi and other films that define the B-movie genre. Now people like Lorenzo Lamas, Dolph Lungrin, Richard Grecko, those are b-movie actors and to use Kathy Griffins terminology, on the C-list.

I wouldn't be for or against anybody because they're an actor. Their profession means many read a lot and are exposed to many ideas just in preparing for roles and reading scripts. They also meet a heck of a lot of people and some of those become intimates or friends. Besides, coming up the party ranks doesn't seem to guarantee good people end up in office...

Actually Sorbo mentioned politics at London Expo when asked, but I don't think I'd ever vote for him - not because I think he wouldn't be qualified or capable, which he might be - who knows - but because I think he's definitely a conservative and I'm definitely not!

Don't know that much about Walken but I'd sure be willing to listen to or read what he has to say.

One trait the next president is going to require is credibility. Any ground achieved through the "war on terror" is going to be lost if we elect someone to office just because they aren't linked to the current administration, the other side, or are just the least repulsive. Its going to have to be somebody we can all get behind big time at least if not 100%.

What credentials does Christopher Walken have as a candidate? Will the Natalie Wood drowning come back to haunt him? Does he have any other skeletons or seeming skeletons in his closet? Where politics are concerned, what is his track record - his own personal voting record, statements he may have made in support of or against issues of import in the past that are still issues today? Will he be an independent or associated with a party? Who will he select as a running mate? What kind of clout could he weild with Congress and the Senate? Would other leaders around the world respect him as a leader or get stuck on his celebrity as a movie star? Has he ever expressed political aspirations before or is this a new thing he's developed a passion for in his later years?

All very valid well thoughout questions. I would need to know more about him and his positions before I would or would not vote for him but I have great respect for him as an actor.
