The silly ending is what I wish would turn out to be a "Dallas" like dream (where the character of Bobby Ewing, killed off the show, stepped out of the shower a year later with that entire season retconned as a dream had by his wife)...It was a silly thing to do to Monica and the promo for next week has

Danny being accused of murdering her

, which makes it even worse...
A wasteful first quarter of the series.

Well, Monica never really gelled for me, too one-note villainess for my taste, and not enough native intelligence to really work as a nemesis for our intrepid crew. But, yeah, that ending was ... well, the show was titled "Mothwoman", and this was one of the more elaborate resets after the conclusion of S2, though now they are at had Sam's (ex)-husband simply taken over from the beginning of S3.

And speaking of Sam ... has that woman no scruples at all? Well, I suppose not, but isn't grave robbing now a crime?

Danny's surprise move of informing Monica's competition was ... ill-advised. 1) he shouldn't have made the call, that was bad ethics, and 2) if he was going to make the call (for the good of the Montecito) he shouldn't have made it from his office, that was lack of common sense. But, OTOH, at least Danny had the sense to restrain himself around the new (I guess) pit boss.

Mary's decision and development actually made sense, though I have trouble believing that the guy would go all out to woo her, then ignore her, then try to win her back when she now know's he's going to ignore her again in favor of his job.

All in all, while I do applaud Vegas for allowing events to go so that we didn't have an instant return to the status quo from S2's Finale, I have to agree that this first part of the season hasn't been the best that Vegas had produced. And, at least this reset does seem to have some consequences for some of our characters.

I don't normally watch this show, as it is way too one-dimensional for me. But I grabbed this epiode because I knew of the "surprise ending" and the death of Monica in advance. And I just wanted to see how they finish her off...

Well, no one could have ever prepared me for a monumental idiocy like THIS!

A little wind and she just flies off the roof?!?! I mean: What in the name of god made a writer come up wit such an stupid idea like that? This scene should be awarded with the price for the most silly character death ever produced on TV....She flies off the roof... I can't believe what I saw...

No I didn't. And I get the references. But I think it's no excuse for a stunt like this.

I don't have a problem with the episode being laid out as a comic story, with all the drawings and the comical references. But Las Vegas is not a comic show per se, so I find it highly inappropriate to kill off a character in such a silly way. It doesn't do the character or the show any justice.

What Mothwoman reference/explanation was given near the beginning of the episode? I think I did miss it. I saw the superhero convention,but nothing specific that seemed connected to the strange flying-off-the-roof scene at the end.

At the beginning people come up to Monica and ask her for her autograph thinking she's Mothwoman. You can see the clip here.
