Ladies and Gents, Ex Islers of All Stripes! The time has come, once again, for Ex Isle Picture Day!

This Annual Event occurs each year on the 1st Wednesday of the New Year, and so, will be on January 2, 2008.

What is it? Ex Isle's own holiday closing out the Hanukkah/Christmas/New Years/Picture Day cycle.

When? ~~January 2, 2008~~ January 8, 2008

How do I celebrate? Beginning at 12:01 A.M. of January 2, 2008, and without regard to time zones, post your picture, in place of your avatar.

That's right. A real picture of yourself. The idea is for us to spend the day "talking face-to-face."

It only happens once a year, and there are board members who would be happy to help you crop your picture or otherwise edit it for safety concerns, so dig through your digital images, or scan a portrait, and let's finally "meet!"

Are there any rules? YES. The picture has to be a recent picture of you. And - we ask everyone, but especially minors, to take notice of some of the safety precautons posted here: http://www.exisle.ne...&...st&p=497820

Ohh....

I have to miss it every year! Can we have two this year or something? I wish I could join in the fun at some point.

My aunt is staying with us that week. I think I've had family over, or I've been visiting family, every year we've had Picture Day. (Wow, how many years has that been?) The first week of January never works out for me.

Polling for another date sounds like a great idea to me.

Honestly, I do wish we could have the event twice a year. People always leave their real pictures up for a few days afterward, and it's so sad when they're all gone.

2nd of January... i'm gonna be at my aunt's for New Years. i can still put up a picture of me that day though (if i have time, and if i'm around long enough to enjoy Picture Day anyway).

Never been much on Avatars. I think with my current title for a avatar I would likely consider Greg House for me.

But if you needed a small one for the picture page by all means.

Oh! Well - no the idea is that on Picture Day (which is now going to be a two -day event, and may also happen again in the summer!), we all switch our avatars to pictures of ourselves - so that we can talk face to face. It's not just a post your picture thread - it's actually being yourself online for a couple of days.
